CFX10 Changes Constituents: What Does It Mean for Crypto?

Indonesia's CFX crypto exchange will change one constituent in the CFX10 Index at 12:00 a.m. WIB on November 1, 2026. Stellar, or XLM, will be removed, while Chainlink, or LINK, will enter in ninth place. The new composition will remain effective through January 31, 2027.

The decision uses reference data from July 1 through September 30, 2026. CFX assessed monthly transaction volume, availability across licensed Digital Financial Asset Traders, and global market-cap rankings. Nine constituents remain unchanged, with one replacement.

LINK's inclusion is not an investment recommendation from CFX. XLM's removal does not prohibit the asset from trading. The reconstitution changes the assets used to calculate CFX10 for the next index period.

The change is still relevant to Indonesian traders because CFX10 is intended to represent conditions in the domestic crypto-asset market. Its effect on LINK and XLM prices will depend on how market participants use the index, including whether investment products or strategies track its composition.

What changes in the CFX10 Index?

The composition for November 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027 is:

  1. Bitcoin, or BTC

  2. Ethereum, or ETH

  3. BNB

  4. XRP

  5. Solana, or SOL

  6. TRON, or TRX

  7. Hyperliquid, or HYPE

  8. Dogecoin, or DOGE

  9. Chainlink, or LINK

  10. Cardano, or ADA

Nine assets remain in the index. The only change occurs in ninth place, where LINK replaces XLM.

The CFX10 webpage still displayed XLM when checked on October 29, 2026. That display does not conflict with the announcement. The replacement becomes effective on November 1 at 12:00 a.m. WIB, so XLM remains a constituent until the current period ends on October 31.

Editors and traders need to observe this timing. Using the new list before its effective time would produce an analysis that does not match the index composition still in force.

How does CFX select the constituents?

The CFX document describes three layers of evaluation. Each measures a different aspect of an asset's suitability for inclusion.

A. Transaction volume over three months

CFX used monthly transaction value from July 1 through September 30, 2026. An eligible asset needed above-average volume relative to crypto assets listed in Indonesia's Digital Financial Asset List during that period.

Volume helps show whether an asset trades actively. An asset with a large global market capitalization may still have insufficient activity in Indonesia.

High volume also requires careful interpretation. Activity may be concentrated in a short period, generated by a limited group of traders, or affected by temporary volatility. The announcement does not provide LINK's and XLM's detailed volume, so readers cannot calculate the difference between them from the PDF.

B. Availability across crypto traders

An asset must also trade across a minimum number of Digital Financial Asset Traders, with the threshold set in relation to the industry average during the assessment period.

This criterion measures how widely an asset is available within Indonesia's trading system. Wider availability may improve price formation because the data do not depend on one trading venue.

The number of venues does not guarantee liquidity. An asset can be listed across multiple traders while still having shallow order books or wide spreads. CFX uses availability as one filter rather than a complete measure of trading quality.

C. Global market capitalization

CFX then adjusts the ranking based on global market capitalization. Market capitalization is calculated from an asset's price and circulating supply, so larger assets tend to rank higher.

The metric provides context about the relative size of a network. It does not measure order-book depth, ownership concentration, protocol revenue, or token-supply risk.

Changes in circulating supply can also raise market capitalization without an equal increase in demand. Token unlock schedules and holder concentration therefore require separate analysis.

D. Periodic review

The new composition remains effective for three months, from November 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027. CFX will evaluate the constituents again for the following period.

Periodic reviews allow the index to adjust to changes in transaction activity and asset size. Membership is therefore not permanent. LINK may be removed during a future review if it no longer meets the criteria, while XLM may return.

CFX10 is different from the Digital Financial Asset List

Indonesia's Digital Financial Asset List determines which assets may be traded within the applicable regulatory framework. CFX10 selects only ten assets for an index.

An asset may remain on the Digital Financial Asset List even when it is not included in CFX10. Removing XLM from the index is therefore different from delisting the asset, prohibiting transactions, or declaring it unsafe.

The distinction can be summarized as follows:

  • The Digital Financial Asset List concerns asset eligibility under the applicable trading framework.

  • CFX10 constituents are used to calculate a benchmark index.

  • Delisting removes an asset from trading at a particular provider.

  • Index reconstitution changes the index basket for a defined period.

Traders should identify the type of announcement before reacting. Confusing reconstitution with delisting can lead to decisions based on an incorrect assumption.

What is CFX10 used for?

CFX launched CFX10 as a benchmark for the condition and direction of Indonesia's crypto market. The index uses transaction reports submitted by CFX members.

The index may support several uses:

  • Comparing an asset or portfolio with a group of large crypto assets.

  • Observing the broad direction of actively traded assets in Indonesia.

  • Providing a reference for research and market reporting.

  • Supporting products that may use the index as a benchmark, if the necessary product and regulatory structures are available.

An index is not automatically an investable portfolio. Traders also cannot calculate CFX10 returns by taking a simple average of ten price changes because constituent weights determine each asset's contribution.

The reconstitution announcement does not disclose those weights. That omission limits any estimate of how much LINK will affect CFX10 after November 1.

Could CFX10 inclusion raise LINK's price?

Index inclusion may increase an asset's visibility because it becomes part of an official benchmark. A stronger price effect generally requires a product, fund, or strategy that must purchase the asset according to the index weight.

The CFX announcement does not identify any automatic LINK purchase. CFX also presents CFX10 as an informational index rather than an investment instruction. LINK's addition therefore does not establish a fixed amount of new demand.

A hypothetical example explains the mechanism. Assume LINK receives a 5% weight in a product with IDR 100 billion under management that fully tracks CFX10. That product would theoretically require about IDR 5 billion of LINK exposure.

The example does not describe a current CFX product. The 5% weight and IDR 100 billion value are assumptions. It shows that the price effect would come from assets under management and rebalancing rules, not from the index announcement alone.

Without a product that purchases the underlying asset, the main effect may be greater visibility and trader attention.

What does XLM's removal mean?

XLM will no longer contribute to the calculation of CFX10 from November 1. The CFX document does not state that the Stellar network has stopped operating, that XLM has left the Digital Financial Asset List, or that traders must discontinue transactions.

The removal indicates that LINK ranked more favorably under the criteria used for the assessment period. The announcement does not disclose the transaction volume, number of trading providers, or capitalization inputs for each asset. Readers therefore cannot identify which factor contributed most to the replacement.

Selling pressure may emerge if market participants previously held XLM to track the index. The size of that pressure depends on how much exposure actually rebalances.

XLM holders should monitor liquidity, spreads, spot volume, and provider announcements. A short-term reaction to the index news does not measure the long-term use of the Stellar network.

Why did LINK qualify?

Chainlink provides oracle infrastructure that connects smart contracts with external data and systems. LINK participates in the network's economic design, including payment for certain services and staking under the protocol's rules.

That use case may support trading activity, but network utility does not guarantee token appreciation. LINK's value also depends on circulating supply, distribution schedules, actual usage, service economics, market sentiment, and liquidity.

LINK's ninth-place ranking shows that it met the CFX methodology for the assessment period. It is not a complete security assessment or a forecast of investment performance.

Traders who want to follow LINK after the reconstitution can use the MEXC Chainlink price page. MEXC prices may differ from CFX reference values because the data sources, update times, trading pairs, and aggregation methods are different.

Risks of reading an index too simply

An index compresses several assets into one number. That is useful for comparison, but it can hide substantial differences among the constituents.

A. Concentration in large assets

Bitcoin and Ethereum generally have much larger market capitalizations than the remaining constituents. If weights reflect market size, their movements may dominate the index.

CFX10 could rise even while most altcoins fall if BTC or ETH has a large weight and appreciates. Without published weights, readers should avoid treating one index move as proof that all constituents moved in the same direction.

B. Price differences across platforms

CFX calculates the index using transaction data from its member ecosystem. Prices on MEXC or other global markets may differ because liquidity, user bases, exchange rates, and order books are not identical.

A small difference does not necessarily indicate a problem. Any comparison should use matching timestamps, trading pairs, and currency units.

C. Pre-rebalancing movement

Traders may buy an incoming asset or sell an outgoing asset before the effective date. That activity can create temporary volatility.

The move may reverse after the rebalance is complete. Buying LINK solely because of its inclusion assumes that new demand will exceed selling from existing holders.

D. A short operating history

CFX10 launched in June 2026. Its history covers only a limited range of market environments, making it difficult to assess how the index behaves across full liquidity and volatility cycles.

Users should understand the methodology, data sources, and review frequency before treating CFX10 as a long-term benchmark.

What should be monitored after November 1?

The effect of the reconstitution can be assessed only after it becomes effective. Relevant indicators include:

  • Changes in LINK and XLM volume and spreads.

  • Price movement before and after 12:00 a.m. WIB on November 1.

  • Official constituent weights if CFX publishes them.

  • Products or strategies that use CFX10 as a benchmark.

  • Differences between the index, Bitcoin, and the broader crypto market.

  • The next constituent announcement for the period after January 31, 2027.

LINK replaces XLM because of CFX's evaluation for July through September. The decision provides information about transaction activity, availability, and capitalization rankings under the methodology. It does not prove that LINK will rise or XLM will fall.

CFX10's practical value comes from its role as an Indonesian benchmark. Analysis would become more reproducible if CFX publishes constituent weights, a longer index history, and additional methodology details.
