Only on five spot pairs: Tapbit charges 0% on BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL and DOGE against USDT, below MEXC's 0.05% taker.
Everywhere else MEXC costs less, and a mixed month of spot and BTC futures comes to 40 USDT on MEXC against 80 USDT on Tapbit.
Key Takeaways
For anyone trading beyond five pairs or trading perpetuals, MEXC is our pick: a mixed month of spot and BTC futures costs 40 USDT on MEXC against 80 USDT on Tapbit.
Tapbit charges 0% to makers and takers on BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL and DOGE against USDT, per its official fee page, which beats MEXC's 0.05% spot taker on those pairs.
Every other Tapbit spot pair costs 0.1%, and its perpetuals cost 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker, against 0% maker on all MEXC spot pairs and 0.02% taker on BTCUSDT.
CoinGecko scored Tapbit 6 out of 10 on September 25, 2026 against 9 for MEXC, while recording more spot volume and a tighter average spread for Tapbit.
CoinGecko listed about 16,900 USD in exchange reserves for Tapbit that day, against roughly 618 million USD for MEXC.
Tapbit Capital, Inc. and MEXC Global LTD both appear in a February 2025 Seychelles FSA annex of companies that did not apply for a licence by its deadline.
A 0% fee headline is only as useful as the list of pairs it covers.
At Tapbit that list has five names, and the rest of the exchange prices like much of the market.
This Tapbit vs MEXC comparison splits a trading month by pair, so each platform's cheaper side shows up in the numbers.
80 USDT on Tapbit against 40 USDT on MEXC, for 20,000 USDT of market orders on Tapbit's five zero-fee pairs, 20,000 USDT on other pairs and 100,000 USDT of BTC perpetual orders.
Tapbit wins the first bucket outright, and MEXC wins the other two.
Most traders do not stay inside five pairs, so the useful question is where the rest of their volume lands.
MEXC charges makers 0% on every spot pair and takers 0.05%, and its BTCUSDT perpetual costs 0% and 0.02%.
Those rates sit on the MEXC fee page, read on September 10, 2026. Tapbit's official fee page, read on September 25, 2026, lists 0% on the five pairs, 0.1% on every other spot pair and 0.02% and 0.06% on perpetuals.
On the five zero-fee pairs, 20,000 USDT of market orders costs nothing on Tapbit and 10 USDT on MEXC, or 8 USDT when the fee is paid in MX.
On other pairs the same 20,000 USDT costs 20 USDT on Tapbit and 10 USDT on MEXC.
BTC perpetual orders worth 100,000 USDT at market cost 60 USDT on Tapbit and 20 USDT on MEXC's BTCUSDT line.
Limit orders on the five pairs cost nothing on either exchange, so the gap there only appears for market orders.
Automated futures trading is the exception, since MEXC bills API orders at 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker, which would put the BTC bucket at 80 USDT, above Tapbit's 60.
Because this page is ours, Tapbit's real advantages are stated before our own case.
On its five zero-fee pairs Tapbit's market orders are free where ours cost 0.05%, and CoinGecko recorded more spot volume and a tighter average spread for Tapbit than for MEXC on September 25, 2026.
Our case covers everything outside those five pairs: 0% maker on every spot market, a BTC futures taker a third of Tapbit's, a Trust Score of 9 against 6, and about 618 million USD in tracked reserves.
We concede the regulator column, where both exchanges carry Seychelles records that the trust section lays out side by side.
Every dimension beyond fees gets its own score in our MEXC review.
Five: BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL and DOGE, each against USDT, trade at 0% for makers and takers on Tapbit's current fee page, last updated December 4, 2025.
Every other spot pair costs 0.1% on both sides, and perpetuals cost 0.02% and 0.06%.
Earlier reviews described the zero-fee pairs as a promotional campaign, but the fee page now presents them as part of the standing schedule.
On CoinGecko's tracked markets that day, the five pairs made up about 55% of Tapbit's reported spot volume.
HYPE/USDT alone accounted for about 21%, and it is not on the zero-fee list.
Because MEXC makers already pay 0% on every spot pair, Tapbit's edge applies to market orders on those five pairs.
The table uses the six dimensions from our review methodology, with Tapbit's fees taken from its own fee page and every market figure from CoinGecko, all read on September 25, 2026. Spot volume and average spread are the two rows Tapbit wins.

Sources by row: Tapbit's fees from its official fee page and its leverage from Coin Bureau's January 2026 review; scores, volumes, spreads and reserves from CoinGecko, read September 25, 2026; MEXC's rates from its official fee page, read September 10, 2026. CoinGecko recorded 38,118 BTC of 24-hour spot volume for Tapbit that day, more than double MEXC's 17,584 BTC, alongside about 16,900 USD in listed exchange reserves.
CoinGecko's page sends readers to DefiLlama's Tapbit dashboard for the underlying reserve data.
Tapbit held a 6 out of 10 Trust Score and MEXC a 9 on September 25, 2026, and a single Seychelles regulator annex from February 2025 names the companies behind both exchanges, as set out below.
Its incident log was empty for both of them.
The Seychelles FSA's February 14, 2025 press release lists Tapbit Capital, Inc. and MEXC Global LTD among companies with a Seychelles nexus that did not submit a complete licence application by December 31, 2024, both under its dissolved-companies heading. The release says any listed company still in operation is operating illegally under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024.
For MEXC, the FSA then announced enforcement against MX Global Ltd, which it identifies as the platform's current operator, in a May 26, 2026 press release. Dubai's VARA fined that operator on June 22, 2026, citing service to local customers without a licence and gaps in identity checks, according to its notice of fines. On Tapbit's side, the one registration CoinGecko shows is a Canadian money services business entry, which it classes as an anti-money-laundering framework only.
Alongside the roughly 618 million USD that CoinGecko lists for it, MEXC publishes its reserve audit reports.
MEXC suits traders who spread volume across more than a handful of pairs, anyone trading perpetuals by hand, and readers who want tracked reserves behind the exchange they use.
Tapbit fits a narrow case: market-order spot traders who stay on BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL and DOGE, and who accept its Trust Score and reserve figures.
One BTCUSDT perpetual trade on MEXC shows the 0.02% taker line on your own statement.
A cheaper fee line does not change the rule for US, UK and Australian readers: use a platform licensed where you live.
For EU and EEA residents, the MiCA line in the notice below matters more than any fee figure here.
Is Tapbit cheaper than MEXC?

On other pairs and on perpetuals, MEXC costs less.
What are Tapbit's trading fees?
Its official fee page lists 0% on five major USDT spot pairs, 0.1% on the rest, and 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker on perpetuals.
The page can change without notice, so confirm it on the day you trade.
Is Tapbit's 0% fee a limited-time promotion?
The current fee page presents it as part of the standing schedule, last updated December 4, 2025.
Earlier coverage described it as a campaign.
What is Tapbit's CoinGecko trust score?
It stood at 6 out of 10 when we checked on September 25, 2026.
MEXC was rated nine out of 10 on the same date.
Does Tapbit hold a licence?
Not in the trading sense: its only registration on CoinGecko is a Canadian money services business entry, which covers anti-money-laundering duties.
The Seychelles FSA listed Tapbit Capital, Inc. in its February 2025 annex, alongside MEXC Global LTD.
How much does Tapbit hold in reserves?
CoinGecko listed about 16,900 USD in exchange reserves for Tapbit on September 25, 2026.
It listed roughly 618 million USD for MEXC.
Can I move funds from Tapbit to MEXC?
It takes three moves: close open perpetuals, send a test withdrawal to your MEXC deposit address, then transfer the balance.
Use the same network on both sides, as listed in your MEXC account.
Perpetual futures and leverage amplify both gains and losses, and positions can be liquidated for the full margin amount.
At 500x, a move of roughly 0.2% against a position can trigger liquidation, so high tiers suit only experienced traders with strict risk controls.

In the EU and EEA, MEXC is not authorized under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The Dutch regulator AFM has placed MEXC on its register of non-compliant entities, which ESMA republishes, and readers in those regions should factor this status into any decision.
In a May 26, 2026 press release, the Seychelles Financial Services Authority said the company it identifies as operating the MEXC platform does not hold a licence under its Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024, that it is initiating enforcement measures, and that the public should exercise caution when dealing with the platform.
In a June 22, 2026 notice of fines, Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority said the entity operating as MEXC had served customers in Dubai without a licence from 2022 to April 2026 and onboarded users without meeting UAE know-your-customer requirements, and that it cooperated, complied with cease-and-desist orders and intends to seek a licence.
