Bitdeer BTDR Unveils SEALMINER DL1 Air for Litecoin and Dogecoin Mining

Bitdeer launches SEALMINER DL1 Air Scrypt miner with 25 GH/s hashrate and 149 J/GH efficiency, targeting LTC and DOGE miners seeking operational flexibility.

Bitdeer BTDR Unveils SEALMINER DL1 Air for Litecoin and Dogecoin Mining

Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR) has rolled out the SEALMINER DL1 Air, a new Scrypt-algorithm mining machine built for Litecoin and Dogecoin operations. The Singapore-based company announced the launch on March 16, 2026, positioning the hardware as an industrial-grade solution for professional mining outfits.

The DL1 Air delivers 25 GH/s at 149 joules per gigahash, consuming 3,725 watts under standard operating conditions. Beyond LTC and DOGE, the unit supports several smaller Scrypt coins including Bellscoin, Junkcoin, Luckycoin, and Pepecoin.

Three Operating Modes Offer Deployment Flexibility

What separates this unit from typical single-profile miners is its trio of operating modes. Normal and High Hashrate settings balance output with energy efficiency, but the Low Power Mode stands out for operators facing grid constraints or high electricity costs. In that configuration, hashrate drops to 20.5 GH/s while efficiency improves to 136 J/GH—roughly 9% better than the standard setting.

That kind of flexibility matters. Mining margins live and die on power costs, and the ability to throttle down during peak pricing periods without taking machines offline entirely could preserve profitability in tight markets.

The hardware itself weighs 15.5 kg with compact dimensions of 197 × 365 × 292 mm, designed for high-density rack deployment. Bitdeer notes performance may vary by ±5% on hashrate and efficiency, with power consumption fluctuating up to ±10%.

Market Timing and LTC Price Context

The launch comes as Litecoin trades around $57.39, up 3.52% over the past 24 hours as of March 16. LTC has maintained support near $55 since early March despite some turbulence from contract delisting events and lending protocol concerns affecting speculative sentiment.

For miners, the math depends heavily on network difficulty and electricity rates. At current LTC prices, the DL1 Air's efficiency specs put it in competitive territory for Scrypt mining, though operators will need to run their own profitability calculations based on local power costs.

Bitdeer's Hardware Ambitions

The DL1 Air represents Bitdeer's continued push into self-developed mining hardware through its SEALMINER brand, which uses proprietary SEAL-series ASIC chips. The company operates data centers across the U.S., Norway, Bhutan, and Ethiopia, giving it direct insight into what large-scale miners actually need from their equipment.

Pricing and shipping timelines weren't disclosed in the announcement. Interested buyers can contact Bitdeer's sales team directly for consultation.

Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future

The post Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. “It’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress,” writes Pipes. Getty Images Washington is addicted to taxing success. Now, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is floating a plan to skim half the patent earnings from inventions developed at universities with federal funding. It’s being sold as a way to shore up programs like Social Security. In reality, it’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress. Yes, taxpayer dollars support early-stage research. But the real payoff comes later—in the jobs created, cures discovered, and industries launched when universities and private industry turn those discoveries into real products. By comparison, the sums at stake in patent licensing are trivial. Universities collectively earn only about $3.6 billion annually in patent income—less than the federal government spends on Social Security in a single day. Even confiscating half would barely register against a $6 trillion federal budget. And yet the damage from such a policy would be anything but trivial. The true return on taxpayer investment isn’t in licensing checks sent to Washington, but in the downstream economic activity that federally supported research unleashes. Thanks to the bipartisan Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, universities and private industry have powerful incentives to translate early-stage discoveries into real-world products. Before Bayh-Dole, the government hoarded patents from federally funded research, and fewer than 5% were ever licensed. Once universities could own and license their own inventions, innovation exploded. The result has been one of the best returns on investment in government history. Since 1996, university research has added nearly $2 trillion to U.S. industrial output, supported 6.5 million jobs, and launched more than 19,000 startups. Those companies pay…
