Perfectly timed for the holidays, Will Ferrell’s hero Buddy the Elf costume from Elf is going up for auction and could fetch as much as $264,000.
Fans of director Jon Favreau’s classic 2003 film will instantly recognize the screen-matched costuming worn in the scene where the character pushes every button in the elevator to see them light up. It has a guide price of $132,000 to $264,000 (£100,000 to £200,000).
The Elf costume, courtesy of film producer Jon Berg, is one of the star items in Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, taking place in London, England, from Friday, December 5, 2025, to Sunday, December 7, 2025. There are over 1,350 rare and extraordinary lots in the sale, which is expected to net £8 million – that’s approximately $ 10.5 million.
From ‘Elf’ To ‘Die Hard,’ Propstore’s Auction Has The Festive Feeling
You can argue all day over whether it counts as a Christmas movie or not, but it wouldn’t be a Christmas movie viewing party without Die Hard. Thanks to the auction and the Alan Rickman Archive, fans of the iconic 1988 action film are getting the chance to own Rickman’s heavily annotated personal shooting script, revised pages, production ephemera, and even this ticket to the Die Hard London premiere. That bundle has an anticipated sale price of $39,600 to $79,200 (£30,000 to £60,000). It’s the perfect chance to (Hans) Gruber piece of unique memorabilia.
If screaming in a winter wonderland is more your thing, then you’ll be tempted to bid for Jack Nicholson’s character, Jack Torrance’s stunt axe from The Shining. That is expected to find a new home for somewhere in the region of $66,000 to $132,000 (£50,000 to £100,000).

Alan Rickman’s ‘Love Actually’ Script Is Something Else You Treat Your ‘Elf’ To
Elsewhere, another item from the Alan Rickman Archive will likely grab the attention of Love Actually fans. The actor’s personal hand-annotated shooting script, letters from director Richard Curtis, crew items, and production ephemera from the 2003 festive romantic comedy have a guide price of $3,960 to $7,920 (£3,000 to £6,000).
These four items are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the opportunities to own a piece of film and TV history and are perfect gifts for the cinephile who has everything.

The Star Wars and Indiana Jones items Lane is referring to are actually the two highest-priced and most prized items in the seasonal sale.
Expected to fetch between $462,000 and $924,000 (£350,000 to £700,000) is Boba Fett’s hero screen, photo, and serial number-matched EE-3 Carbine Blaster from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. It’s the most expensive item in the auction, and according to all known archival research and photographic evidence, it is believed to be the only original hero EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in the movie.

Right behind it with the second-highest price tag is Indiana Jones’ fedora, which Harrison Ford wore in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The hat, featuring a refined, tapered crown design, was created specifically for the second film in the franchise by the Herbert Johnson Hat Company.
The sale also features items from a wealth of classic movies, including Fight Club, The Goonies, Scream, Back to the Future Part II, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Hook, Men in Black, and, for fans of old Hollywood, The Red Shoes.
