โทเคโนมิกส์ Render (RENDER)

The Render Network is a decentralized peer-to-peer marketplace for GPU compute services, connecting users who need rendering or machine learning power with idle GPU owners. The network's economic model has evolved significantly with its migration from Ethereum to Solana and the implementation of the Burn Mint Equilibrium (BME).

Issuance Mechanism

Render Network's issuance is governed by a predefined emission schedule that supports its multi-chain ecosystem. Originally launched as an ERC-20 token (RNDR) on Ethereum, the network migrated its core operations to Solana in November 2023, introducing the SPL token (RENDER).

• Maximum Supply: Following the Solana migration, the initial maximum supply of approximately 536.87 million was increased to 644.25 million.
• New Emissions: An additional 107.38 million tokens are scheduled for issuance on Solana over a ten-year period.
• Emission Schedule:
  • Year 1 (2024): Approximately 9.13 million RENDER were planned for minting.
  • Year 2 (2025): Approximately 5.90 million RENDER are scheduled for minting.
• Burn Mint Equilibrium (BME): This model ensures that while new tokens are minted as rewards, tokens are simultaneously burned when creators pay for jobs, aiming to balance supply and demand.

Allocation Mechanism

The allocation of tokens is divided between historical distributions from the Ethereum era and the new emission-based allocations on Solana.

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

The RENDER token serves as the primary medium of exchange and incentive within the ecosystem:

• Payment for Services: Creators and AI clients pay for compute jobs in RENDER. These jobs are priced in USD, and the equivalent RENDER is deposited into the network.
• Node Operator Rewards: GPU providers earn RENDER for fulfilling compute requests. Rewards are distributed based on performance metrics, including GPU model, bandwidth, and uptime.
• Creator Rebates: To encourage network activity, creators receive rebates in RENDER for the tokens they expend on rendering services.
• Governance: Tokenholders can participate in off-chain governance by voting on Render Network Proposals (RNPs) via platforms like Snapshot and Nation.

Locking and Unlocking Mechanism

The network utilizes specific mechanisms for token transitions and historical vesting:

• Bridge Mechanism: When moving RNDR from Ethereum to Solana or Polygon, the network uses a lock-and-mint or burn-and-unlock process. For the Solana migration, the swap from RNDR to RENDER is a one-way upgrade.
• Historical Lock-ups: The initial 10% allocation for team members and advisors was subject to a six-month lock-up period following the early development phases.
• Upgrade Incentives: The Foundation set aside 1.14 million RENDER for upgrade incentives, which included gas fee rebates for users migrating tokens to Solana (this specific rebate period ended on January 31, 2024).
• Unlocking Time: While specific long-term vesting dates for all current treasury holdings were not provided, the new 107.38 million tokens are released according to a 10-year declining emission schedule.

Transaction Fees and Burning

Every completed job on the network triggers a financial flow managed by smart contracts:

1. A 5.00% transaction fee is deducted from the creator's deposit.
2. The equivalent USD value of the deposit is burned.
3. The creator receives non-fungible, non-transferable Render Credits as evidence of payment.
4. New RENDER is minted and distributed to the node operator who performed the work.

As of late 2024, approximately 296,000 RENDER (roughly 0.03% of the total supply) had been burned through this mechanism.
