Ripple Prepares Europe’s Banking System for DLT Settlement

According to on-chain metrics leader XRP Update, Ripple has secured a strategic foothold in Europe’s core banking system via the TAS Network Gateway, linking banks directly to TARGET2, SEPA, and T2/T2S, and positioning itself as a key bridge between traditional finance and blockchain settlement.

Through the TAS Network Gateway, European banks gain seamless access to high-value payment systems, real-time gross settlement, and cross-border euro transfers. Ripple’s integration lets these banks settle transactions faster, cheaper, and more efficiently, without altering existing banking infrastructure.

Well, Europe is advancing toward an interoperable financial ecosystem, with the ECB targeting DLT-based settlement by 2026 to boost cross-border efficiency, transparency, and liquidity. Ripple’s integration with the TAS Network positions it as ready infrastructure to power this next-generation financial architecture from day one.

Ripple’s integration goes beyond speed and efficiency, enabling banks to settle transactions on-chain while fully meeting regulatory standards through its built-in compliance tools, critical as regulators demand transparency and auditability for cross-border payments and tokenized assets.

Notably, Ripple is reportedly in late-stage preparations for a 2026 IPO, signaling a transformative milestone for both the company and the broader crypto-financial ecosystem.

Ripple’s strategic timing positions it ahead of competitors as Europe builds DLT settlement frameworks. Early integration with core banking rails offers institutions a trusted, high-volume-ready blockchain solution. Simultaneously, Ripple is expanding in Asia, exploring XRP-based yield infrastructure and real-world asset tokenization on the XRP Ledger.

Ripple’s integration with the TAS Network Gateway positions it as a key bridge between traditional finance and blockchain. With Europe moving toward interoperable DLT settlements by 2026, Ripple offers banks a compliant, scalable, and ready-to-deploy solution, securing its role in the continent’s next-generation financial infrastructure.

Conclusion

As Europe moves toward DLT-based settlements, Ripple’s early TAS Network Gateway integration positions it as a compliant, reliable bridge between traditional finance and blockchain. More than keeping pace with modernization, Ripple is defining the future of cross-border payments and setting the standard for decentralized banking.

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

The post UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. This condition should, in theory, reduce the risk of sudden platform failures or unclear accountability. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong. However, the regulator was also frank in its submission, arguing that no rulebook can eliminate the volatility or inherent risks of holding digital assets. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that when consumers choose to invest, they do…
