Two tropical cyclone-like vortices may develop starting this week — PAGASA
Two tropical cyclone-like vortices (TCLVs) are likely to develop starting this week, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The first TCLV may develop over the northwestern section of the PAGASA monitoring domain, the bureau said in its latest TC threat potential report.
It has a “low to medium chance” of developing into a tropical cyclone within the forecast week.
Another TCLV may develop next week, between June 15 and 21, over the southern part of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
PAGASA said this also has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
The bureau concluded that a tropical cyclone threat is likely this week, while it is less likely next week. — Edg Adrian A. Eva
