‘They will be immediately eliminated’: Trump issues fierce warning to Iranian Navy

President Donald Trump issued a fierce threat to the Iranian Navy on Monday, warning that should they “come anywhere close” to the newly established U.S. Navy blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, that they would be “immediately eliminated.”

“Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated – 158 ships. What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, ‘fast attack ships,’ because we did not consider them much of a threat,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

“Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea. It is quick and brutal. P.S. 98.2% of Drugs coming into the U.S. by Ocean or Sea have STOPPED!”

Trump first announced a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday in response to peace talks between Washington and Tehran having failed to produce results on Saturday. The president has grown increasingly frustrated with Iran’s refusal to re-open the strait to U.S.-aligned vessels, a partial blockade that was enacted in response to the U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran in late February.
