In the Public Square: Last chance? Reforming PH education
Three years ago, the Second Congressional Commission on Education was formed to evaluate all of Philippine education and to recommend necessary reforms—a massive and urgent undertaking. A few days ago, Edcom 2 released its final or Year 3 report.
The focus, now, is on turning Philippine education around, and the heart of the report is an ambitious, 10-year National Education and Workforce Development Plan. Does the political will exist to turn it into a real action plan, not a mere wish list? And if it’s doable, who will do the doing?
