The PENGU token is the native asset of the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem, primarily deployed as an SPL token on Solana, while also utilizing LayerZero OFT technology to exist as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and Abstract.

Issuance Mechanism

PENGU has a fixed maximum supply of approximately 88,890,000,000 (88.89 billion) tokens. As a meme-based asset, its issuance was designed to facilitate broad distribution within its community. A significant portion of the initial supply was distributed via an airdrop mechanism. Notably, the team originally planned for the airdrop claiming period to last until March 9, 2025, but truncated this window to February 9, 2025, after identifying that the remaining claimants were primarily automated bots.

The token distribution is divided among the core team, the company, and the broader community. The known allocations are as follows:

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

PENGU is currently characterized as a meme token with no featured or planned utility beyond speculative holding and exchange.

• Compensation: There are no mechanisms for tokenholders to earn fees, dividends, interest, or liquidity rewards through protocol interaction.
• Staking: There is no native staking or liquidity provisioning mechanism featured or planned for the asset.
• Platform Utility: The asset is not required for access to any specific associated platform or service at this time.

Locking and Unlocking Schedule

The allocations for internal stakeholders are subject to specific vesting schedules to ensure long-term alignment with the project.

• Team Allocation: The ~15.82 billion PENGU tokens allocated to the team are subject to a one-year cliff, followed by a three-year linear vesting schedule.
• Company Allocation: The ~10.20 billion PENGU tokens allocated to the company also follow a one-year cliff and a three-year linear vesting schedule.

While the initial allocations are defined, the specific wallet addresses for these allocations have not been publicly disclosed by the project team. Consequently, actual holdings as of late 2025 or early 2026 may vary from the original distribution plan due to market activities or internal transfers.
