Fuel prices in the Philippines have surged in recent weeks due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

The ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran has critically compromised the Strait of Hormuz — the world’s most vital oil transit chokepoint — since February 28.

To help motorists, commuters, and businesses, Rappler created a fuel price tracker for Metro Manila.

Below is a detailed breakdown of how much local fuel prices have increased since the onset of the current supply crisis. This data reflects the common pump prices across the metropolis, based on official figures from the Department of Energy.

This chart will be regularly updated as new data becomes available.

The fuel crisis also triggered the temporary closure of hundreds of gas stations across the country.

Meanwhile, public utility drivers, as well as motorcycle and car ride-hailing drivers, have been grumbling over the expensive fuel which has adversely affected their daily income.

Metro Manila’s busiest thoroughfare, EDSA, also saw a drop in the number of vehicles, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority reported.

The rising cost of fuel and deplating energy supply also prompted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to declare a state of national energy emergency.
