PANews reported on March 20th that, according to CoinDesk, Coinbase's asset management division announced a partnership with fund servicer Apex Group to launch a tokenized share class for its Bitcoin Yield Fund on the Base network. The fund is managed by Coinbase, with Apex continuing to act as the transfer agent, keeping records synchronized with the fund's net asset value. The tokenized shares use the ERC-3643 token standard, directly encoding investor verification into the tokens. Only verified investors can hold or transfer assets, replacing manual compliance checks with automated rules. The fund is currently available to non-US investors, and Coinbase plans to launch a tokenized version for US investors in the future.
