Trump makes major U-turn as he lavishes praise on Tim Walz

Amid the ongoing chaos in Minnesota as thousands of federal immigration officers continue to swarm the state, President Donald Trump revealed that he had a “very good call” with Gov. Tim Walz, praising the governor just days after accusing him of “inciting insurrection.”

“Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota. It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

“I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all Criminals that they have in their possession. The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the near future.”

Tensions between federal immigration officers and Minnesota residents have exploded in recent days following the fatal shooting of Minnesota resident Alex Pretti on Saturday, and the killing of Renee Good earlier this month.

Trump has increasingly threatened to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act, which would grant him the authority to deploy the U.S. military to Minnesota, and on Sunday, asked his border czar, Tom Homan, to travel to the state to oversee the ongoing immigration crackdown.

At least according to Trump, Walz was reportedly “happy” that Homan would soon be visiting his state.

“[Walz] was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I!” Trump continued. “We have had such tremendous SUCCESS in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and virtually every other place that we have ‘touched’ and, even in Minnesota, Crime is way down, but both Governor Walz and I want to make it better!”
