President Donald Trump dropped a wild statement about peace Thursday evening that left observers scratching their heads.

Trump fielded questions about his polarizing "Board of Peace" initiative for Gaza as he returned to the United States after appearing at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The Gaza scheme comes with a hefty $1 billion price tag for permanent membership.

When pressed about the sky-high fee, Trump brushed aside concerns, claiming, "Some of the countries have already put up much more than that. And that's a lot of money, but it's nothing compared to the value of peace."

That's when the president declared that peace is "destructive for everyone."

"Peace is so destructive for everyone. Even countries that aren't involved. I mean, it's so destructive for everyone when you have wars," he told reporters aboard Air Force One.

The contradictory remarks raised eyebrows among political observers.

Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann wrote on X, "hummana hummana hummana."

YouTuber Keith Edwards chided on X, "His brain is fried."

X user Kristi Nychole wrote, "Mashed potatoes, y'all. His brain is mashed potatoes."

Oliver Alexander chimed in on X, "He is out-Bidening Biden."

"BREAKING: In a shocking memory lapse, Donald Trump completely merges the words 'war' and 'peace' saying that 'peace is destructive' for everyone. Donald Trump is deteriorating fast and anyone who disagrees is lying to you," chided the progressive X account Call to Activism.

Jason Riffle questioned on X, "Is this supposed to make sense?"

The Republicans against Trump account wrote on X, "???"

Writer Greg Cantwell simply shared the definition of dementia on X.

"de·men·tia /dəˈmen(t)SH(ē)ə/ noun 1a condition characterized by progressive or persistent loss of intellectual functioning, especially with impairment of memory and abstract thinking, and often with personality change, resulting from organic disease of the brain."

Writer Bill Murtagh wrote on X, "So is peace 'destructive' or are wars' destructive?' I’m confused. But not as confused at this guy."
