Trump family-backed American Bitcoin Expands BTC Stash
Nasdaq-listed American Bitcoin Corp increased Bitcoin treasury holdings to 5,427 BTC, the company confirmed in an X post on January 5.
The Trump family-backed company has become the 19th largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury by holdings. The company’s market capitalization stands at $1.65 billion.
American Bitcoin increased its holdings by 329 BTC amid a combination of mining operations and strategic purchases. This included Bitcoin held in custody or pledged for miner purchases under an agreement with BITMAIN.
The company has achieved a BTC Yield of almost 105% from its Nasdaq debut on September 3 through January 2, 2026. Recently, American Bitcoin introduced Bitcoin yield metric to complement its existing Satoshis Per Share (SPS) disclosure.
The new metric will measure the percentage change in SPS over defined periods. As per the latest data, SPS has increased to 556.
Eric Trump, co-founder and chief strategy officer of American Bitcoin, said the company has surged past many Bitcoin treasury companies in just over three months.
Recently, the company announced plans to provide regular updates on its website and social media about its Bitcoin holdings, SPS, Bitcoin Yield, and related performance metrics.
American Bitcoin (ABTC) Stock Shoots Over 6%
According to Yahoo Finance data, ABTC stock jumped more than 6% during today’s pre-market trading hours. It is currently trading at $1.89.
The stock price closed 4.7% higher at $1.78 on Friday. The intraday low and high were $1.70 and $1.84, respectively.
ABTC stock has started pumping this year amid buying pressure in Bitcoin. Crypto treasury stocks are facing scrutiny over Bitcoin reserve strategy.
As The Coin Republic reported, American Bitcoin recently flipped Anthony Pompliano’s ProCap Financial’s Bitcoin holdings.
Now, American Bitcoin Corp, co-founded by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., has surpassed David Bailey-backed KindlyMD in Bitcoin holdings.
Bulls Push Bitcoin Price Near $93K
BTC price has jumped more than 2% over the past 24 hours, currently trading at $92,920. The 24-hour low and high were $90,877 and $93,204, respectively.
Trading volume has increased by 28% over the last 24 hours. This indicates a significant buy-the-dip sentiment among traders.
Analyst Ted Pillows pointed out that Bitcoin price has now entered its major resistance zone. A daily close above $94,000 would trigger a rally to $100,000 soon.
However, a rejection from the resistance zone means BTC could fall below the $90,000 support level again.
Derivatives markets showed similar buying sentiment, according to CoinGlass data. At the time of writing, the total BTC futures open interest climbed 3.70% to $60.93 billion in the last 24 hours.
The 24-hour BTC futures open interest jumped 1.30%. It increased by over 0.32% on CME and 0.40% on Binance.
