Pemex produce más combustibles, pero va por debajo de su meta

La elaboración de combustibles de Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) aumentó 32% en un año, ubicándose en 1.039 millones de barriles diarios en octubre, aunque ello derivó en la producción de más combustóleo, cuyo volumen creció 38% en el mismo comparativo, según las últimas Estadísticas de la empresa.

Sin embargo, al sumar la producción de gasolinas, diésel, turbosina y combustóleo únicamente, Pemex reportó un volumen de 863,749 barriles diarios, con lo que va por debajo del estimado de 929,000 barriles por día que se calculó para estos productos durante el 2025 en el Plan Estratégico 2025-2035 de la estatal.

Y en el comparativo mensual, el incremento de producción de todos los petrolíferos fue menor: de sólo 2.1%, mientras en el caso de las gasolinas, con un volumen de 324,746 barriles diarios, se observó una reducción de 10.2% en comparación con septiembre, además de que el volumen de combustóleo elaborado fue de 239,682 barriles por día, con un aumento de 36% en un mes.

Aunque según reporta la empresa, la puesta en marcha de la refinería de Dos Bocas ha levantado sus indicadores, ya que en octubre está produciendo 1.75 veces más petrolíferos que en el mismo mes del 2023, además de que en comparación con el mismo mes del 2018 la elaboración aumentó en 111 por ciento.

Sólo en lo relativo a las gasolinas -que son la tercera parte de lo que refina Pemex- en un año se incrementó en 27% el volumen de producción, mismo que en contraste con el 2018 ha aumentado en 89 por ciento. La elaboración de gasolina Magna de 87 octanos fue de 297,467 barriles por día el décimo mes del año, con un incremento de 18% en un año, pero de 77% en comparación con el 2018 en que cambió la política energética para priorizar la refinación doméstica por encima de las exportaciones de hidrocarburos.

La elaboración de gasolina de mayor octanaje, de marca Premium, es la que mayor incremento ha tenido y aunque tiene participación menor en la oferta de Pemex, con un volumen de 27,279 barriles diarios en octubre tuvo un crecimiento de 528% en un año y de 691% en los últimos siete años.

Entre las promesas del gobierno actual y la anterior administración estuvo reducir la importación de diésel con mayor producción doméstica, y se contó ya con 255,626 barriles diarios de este combustible que tuvo un aumento productivo de 67% en un año y de 206% en relación al 2018. También la turbosina para uso aeronáutico mostró aumentos en su nivel de elaboración: de 52% en un año y de 58% en siete años, ya que se reportaron 43,695 barriles diarios en octubre.

Combustóleo en el sistema

Especialistas y técnicos de Pemex aseguran que a mayor producción de combustibles ligeros, más materiales residuales arrojan las refinerías si no se cuenta con tecnología que requiere inversiones de gran calado, por lo que la política de aumentar el proceso de crudo trae consigo externalidades como más combustóleo, cuya elaboración en octubre fue de 239,682 barriles diarios, con un aumento de 36% en un mes que prácticamente explica la ligera alza de producción de todos los petrolíferos, a pesar de la caída en el nivel de gasolinas.

En un año, la producción de combustóleo de Pemex aumentó 38% -incremento mayor al del conjunto de petrolíferos (32%) y al de las gasolinas (27 por ciento). Y en relación con el 2018, el cambio de política de transformación industrial de Pemex provocó que se pasara de 143,022 barriles diarios de este residual en octubre de 2018, con un aumento de 68% en siete años.

Pemex ha cambiado también la participación de los principales petrolíferos en su oferta y en octubre de 2025 las gasolinas fueron el 31% del total, el diésel el 25% y el combustóleo 23 por ciento. Esto contrasta con el 32.5% que aportaron las gasolinas en 2024, en que el diésel fue 19.5% y el combustóleo tuvo una menor presencia, de 22 por ciento.
