Heineken reafirma inversión por 2,750 millones de dólares en México en el marco de su 135 aniversario

Heineken México celebra 135 años desde su fundación en La Cervecería de Monterrey, Nuevo León, el lugar donde comenzó bajo la iniciativa de Isaac Garza, Francisco Sada y José Muguerza, mientras reafirma sus planes de inversión en el país.

En junio pasado, la cervecera anunció que invertirá 2,750 millones de dólares entre 2025 y 2028, que destinará a la construcción de una nueva planta de producción en Yucatán, entre otros proyectos.

La empresa, que hoy forma parte de una industria que aporta el 1.3 % del PIB nacional, cuenta con siete plantas cerveceras, una maltera, más de 170 centros de distribución y una red de más de 17,000 tiendas Six.

Además, genera más de 17,000 empleos directos y trabaja con más de 2,700 proveedores nacionales, informó la dueña de marcas como Tecate, Dos Equis, Indio, Noche Buena, Carta Blanca, entre otras.

En 2010, Heineken México se integró a The Heineken Company. Hoy, el mercado mexicano representa la operación más grande de la compañía a nivel mundial, según lo informado en un comunicado.

La empresa cervecera hizo un recuento de sus 135 años de historia y destacó su participación en industrias como la del vidrio, el cartón, la refrigeración y el transporte.

Entre sus desarrollos destaca la primera lata abre fácil del país, la “icónica” caguama, el six-pack, y el lanzamiento de su categoría sin alcohol con Heineken 0.0 y Tecate 0.0.

La compañía también citó sus iniciativas en materia de sostenibilidad, con la Planta Tecate que logró reabastecer el 100% del agua contenida en sus productos (equivalente a 800,000 metros cúbicos de agua u 800 millones de litros).

Mientras que la Planta Meoqui sobresale como una de las más eficientes en sus operaciones a nivel global, debido al bajo consumo de agua, de 1.71 litros por cada litro de cerveza producida.

Además, de su impulso a programas sociales como Heineken Green Challenge, con el que ha apoyado a más de 12,000 emprendedores.
