Pi Node Version 0.5.4 Launches with Improved Mining Rewards and Desktop Features

Pi
  1. Pi Network rolls out Node version 0.5.4 with major performance and reward system updates.
  2. The upgrade enhances reliability, open port verification, and desktop accessibility.
  3. The networki’s Node network moves closer to enabling decentralized AI computing support.

Pi Network has officially released version 0.5.4 of its Node, marking another important milestone in its ongoing blockchain development.

The latest version focuses on improving Node performance, reward calculations, and user interaction through the Pi Desktop application. This update also reflects the project’s continued attention to community feedback and its efforts to refine the ecosystem’s technical foundation.

The development team highlighted that this release addresses several problems reported in version 0.5.3, including issues related to Node mining rewards, automatic software updates, and block container creation.

These adjustments aim to make the Nodes more stable and consistent across different environments, improving the overall reliability for users running Pi Nodes on their computers.

By strengthening performance and fixing key errors, the network is ensuring that Node operators can maintain smoother participation in the blockchain’s distributed infrastructure. This step also supports the network’s goal of achieving a stronger and more efficient testnet ahead of its open mainnet transition.

Version 0.5.4 brings about the biggest update to the open port verification system in Pi, which is an extremely important Node functionality in itself, checking that the Nodes are connected with the correct communication channels with the network itself.

Reportedly, the improved system is now able to guarantee a more accurate and secure reward calculation for Node mining, adding to the clarity with which rewards are distributed.

There are other interesting modifications that include the availability of accessing approved links from outside the Desktop interface itself. The user is able to access blog postings, updates, or resources with ease.

The availability of the connection, with its lack of dependencies on other blockchain platforms, eliminates the existing problem of blockchain scalability, which has always hampered the workflow of Node operators and developers interacting with the Pi App Studio before.

Pi App Studio Integration and Future AI Project

However, with the current version, the network App Studio is now relocated to the top navigation bar of the Pi Desktop, which improves its accessibility. The bug that made the deployment of apps’ previews impossible was also fixed in the current version, which ensures that developers can efficiently control, view, or test their apps.

The Pi Node, now fully integrated with the Pi Desktop interface, is the core component that drives the network’s entire ecosystem. Shortly after the release, the network announced another case study with OpenMind for the Node’s computations on the decentralized AI Training process.

China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise

The post China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise China’s internet regulator has ordered the country’s biggest technology firms, including Alibaba and ByteDance, to stop purchasing Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D GPUs. According to the Financial Times, the move shuts down the last major channel for mass supplies of American chips to the Chinese market. Why Beijing Halted Nvidia Purchases Chinese companies had planned to buy tens of thousands of RTX Pro 6000D accelerators and had already begun testing them in servers. But regulators intervened, halting the purchases and signaling stricter controls than earlier measures placed on Nvidia’s H20 chip. Image: Nvidia An audit compared Huawei and Cambricon processors, along with chips developed by Alibaba and Baidu, against Nvidia’s export-approved products. Regulators concluded that Chinese chips had reached performance levels comparable to the restricted U.S. models. This assessment pushed authorities to advise firms to rely more heavily on domestic processors, further tightening Nvidia’s already limited position in China. China’s Drive Toward Tech Independence The decision highlights Beijing’s focus on import substitution — developing self-sufficient chip production to reduce reliance on U.S. supplies. “The signal is now clear: all attention is focused on building a domestic ecosystem,” said a representative of a leading Chinese tech company. Nvidia had unveiled the RTX Pro 6000D in July 2025 during CEO Jensen Huang’s visit to Beijing, in an attempt to keep a foothold in China after Washington restricted exports of its most advanced chips. But momentum is shifting. Industry sources told the Financial Times that Chinese manufacturers plan to triple AI chip production next year to meet growing demand. They believe “domestic supply will now be sufficient without Nvidia.” What It Means for the Future With Huawei, Cambricon, Alibaba, and Baidu stepping up, China is positioning itself for long-term technological independence. Nvidia, meanwhile, faces…
