Singapore policeman charged with voyeurism, molestation involving nine men including colleagues

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — A Singapore police officer has been charged with voyeurism involving nine men, including colleagues, at a neighbourhood police centre (NPC), Home Team facilities and other locations, according to a report by The Straits Times.

The 24-year-old officer, who cannot be named to protect the identities of the alleged victims, was handed 13 charges yesterday — two counts of molestation and 11 counts of voyeurism.

The Straits Times reported that six of the alleged victims were targeted at the NPC and Home Team facilities, with the alleged offences said to have taken place between 2023 and 2025.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that action had been taken against the officer.

“Officers of the SPF are expected to uphold the law and maintain the highest standards of conduct and discipline. We deal sternly with officers who break the law, including charging them in court,” an SPF spokesperson told the Singapore daily. 

The police added that it was unable to comment further as court proceedings were ongoing.

According to court documents cited by The Straits Times, the officer allegedly used his mobile phone to record men in various locations, including police facilities, a swimming complex, gym toilet and an onsen locker room.

The alleged offences included filming men who were in their underwear, showering or inside toilet cubicles.

He was also accused of molesting two victims, including allegedly touching one man’s chest twice at a Home Team facility.

The case will be mentioned again on August 6.

If convicted of voyeurism, an offender in Singapore can face up to two years’ jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of punishments.

Each molestation charge carries a maximum jail term of three years, a fine, caning, or a combination of such penalties.
