EC chairman Ramlan Harun said the commission will only announce the full results instead of providing updates on the seats won throughout the night.
KLUANG: The Election Commission (EC) expects the full results of the Johor state election to be out by 10pm this Saturday.
EC chairman Ramlan Harun said the commission would only announce the full results instead of providing updates on the seats won throughout the night.
“With our upgraded system, we hope to have the full results ready at around 10pm,” he said at a press conference after observing the early voting process at the Mahkota army camp here today.
Ramlan urged all Johoreans to cast their ballots on July 11, describing it as their opportunity to contribute to the country through the democratic process.
He said the EC is investigating 588 reports of alleged election offences, in addition to 44 police reports and three more filed with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
A total of 2.73 million voters are eligible to vote in Johor, including 24,751 police and armed forces personnel who are casting their ballots today.
