PETALING JAYA: Several vehicles, including lorries and cars, caught fire following an accident at KM31.8 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) southbound between Sedenak and Kulai in Johor this morning.
Preliminary information indicates that the crash may have resulted in fatalities, but details regarding the victims and the cause of the incident have yet to be confirmed, reported Berita Harian.

The impact of the collision caused severe damage to the vehicles involved.
In an initial traffic update, PLUS Malaysia Bhd said the accident occurred after the Kulai R&R heading south. All southbound lanes remain completely blocked.
“This accident has caused traffic congestion in both directions. Road users are advised to drive carefully and follow the instructions of the authorities at the scene,” it said.
Traffic was reported to have come to a complete standstill as emergency personnel worked to manage the incident and clear the affected stretch of road.
