All-new Vigo EV takes center stage

DONGFENG MOTOR Philippines recently presented its latest offering, the Vigo EV (electric vehicle). The compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) boasts a range of up to 471 kilometers between charging sessions.

“We are proud to introduce a vehicle that combines innovation, practicality, and confidence for everyday driving,” said Dongfeng Motor Philippines Deputy Chief Executive Officer Brennan Lim in a release. “The Vigo EV represents our vision of bringing smart, efficient, and accessible electric mobility closer to Filipino customers.”

The Vigo EV’s electric motor delivers up to 161hp and 230Nm of torque. According to the brand, charging can be completed in 18 minutes, and a five-minute rapid charge can add up to 114 kilometers of range. The vehicle’s battery helps regulate cabin temperature and power external electronics. It also supports Nap and Camp modes for comfortable and energy-efficient rest inside the vehicle.

Safety features include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) abilities such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and lane-centering assist.

The EV has a two-section tailgate and total boot capacity of 500 liters, which extends to more than 1,000 liters with the second-row seatbacks folded. Aboard is a 12.8-inch high-definition infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay. An advanced voice recognition system assists passengers in operating the air-conditioning system, power windows, phone features, and multimedia functions.

The Vigo EV comes in a single variant priced at P1.458 million, and is available in six colors: Arctic White, Canyon Orange, Cyber Black, Mosswood Green, Sandstone Yellow, and Titanium Silver. Each purchase includes a 10-year battery warranty and a five-year bumper-to-bumper vehicle warranty.
