ZIGChain is a Layer 1 blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK, designed to facilitate decentralized wealth management and financial opportunities. The native utility token of the ecosystem is ZIG, which powers the network's security, governance, and economic activities.

Issuance Mechanism

ZIGChain utilizes the standard Mint module from the Cosmos SDK to regulate the issuance of ZIG tokens. This module is responsible for:

• Reward Generation: Issuing new tokens to incentivize validators and delegators for securing the network.

The distribution of rewards and funds within the ZIGChain ecosystem is managed by the Distribution module. This module handles the following:

• Validator Commission: Ensuring validators receive their specified percentage of rewards before the remainder is distributed to delegators.

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

The ZIG token serves multiple primary functions within the ecosystem, creating a circular economy driven by utility and security.

Network Utility

• Gas Fees: Users pay a small upfront fee in ZIG for every transaction processed on the network.
• Staking: ZIG holders can delegate their tokens to validators. This process secures the network via a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.
• Governance: ZIG is used as a voting tool. Each token represents one vote, allowing holders to propose and vote on changes to network parameters, such as fee structures, validator counts, and treasury spending.

Ecosystem Incentives

• Wealth Management Engine: This ZIGChain-specific module (Profit Sharing 3.5) allows users to participate in investment strategies. These strategies are tokenized, and their performance directly impacts the value and returns shared among participants.
• DEX and Factory Modules: ZIG is used to facilitate on-chain swaps, provide liquidity, and manage the creation of custom tokens through the Factory module.

Locking and Unlocking Mechanisms

ZIGChain employs several mechanisms to ensure network stability and discourage malicious behavior.

Locking Mechanism (Staking)

The Staking module enables the locking of ZIG tokens. When tokens are delegated to a validator, they are "bonded" to the network. While bonded, these tokens cannot be traded or moved, but they earn rewards for the holder.

Security Enforcement (Slashing)

To protect the network, the Slashing module penalizes validators for misconduct. If a validator double-signs a block or experiences prolonged downtime, a portion of their locked (staked) ZIG tokens—and those of their delegators—can be permanently removed (slashed).

Unlocking and Vesting

While specific historical unlock dates for private or team allocations are not detailed in the current technical documentation, the network follows a decentralized process for unbonding:

• Unbonding Period: When a user decides to stop staking, the tokens enter an "unbonding" state. During this period, the tokens remain locked and do not earn rewards, typically lasting several days or weeks (depending on governance parameters) before they become liquid again.
• Governance-Controlled Unlocks: The community pool and treasury funds are unlocked only through successful governance votes, ensuring that large-scale token movements are transparent and approved by the community.
