BGD Labs ceased providing technical contributions to Aave starting in April.

PANews reported on February 20th that, according to The Block, BGD Labs, a core technology contributor to Aave, announced it will not renew its service contract with Aave DAO after it expires on April 1st, ending nearly four years of cooperation. BGD stated it will continue to fulfill its responsibilities to date, including Aave v3, Umbrella, on-chain scaling, asset listing, and security maintenance, and plans to release documentation and maintenance guidelines to facilitate other teams taking over. BGD pointed out that Aave Labs is in a more central position in the development of Aave v4 and the protocol reorganization, controlling brand, communication channels, and voting influence, leading to decentralized governance deviations and "asymmetric organizational structure" issues. BGD also proposed providing optional security advisory services for two months from April to June, worth $200,000, subject to governance approval.
