New Native, AI-Embedded Capability in Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend Helps Improve Image Quality Control at Capture

AMERICAN FORK, Utah–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Henry Schein One, the market leader in dental practice management systems, today announced the launch of AI-driven Image Verify, the latest innovation in a rapid series of product advancements designed to deliver the cleanest claims experience in dentistry. Image Verify, natively embedded in Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend, represents another major step towards the company’s bold Clean Claims vision – a future where dental practices submit claims once and never have to touch them again.

As the market leader in dental cloud-based technology, Henry Schein One has accelerated development across its platform to systematically eliminate friction points that lead to claim delays, denials, and costly rework. From Forms and Eligibility Pro to Voice Notes and a completely redesigned Claims Manager, each innovation is designed to reduce errors prior to submission and optimize the payment process. By natively combining these solutions, revenue cycle management is evolving – leading to fewer resubmissions, less time contacting insurers, and enabling practices to receive payments more quickly while reducing administrative demands.

Image Verify is an AI-powered quality assessment tool built directly into the imaging work of Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend. It evaluates clinical images in real time at the moment of capture. By alerting teams to blur, misalignment, and incomplete coverage immediately, Image Verify helps prevent one of the most common and avoidable causes of claim denials.

Up to 20% of dental claims are initially denied, contributing to an average practice revenue loss of 9% each year. Missing or low-quality images remain among the leading causes of these denials. By automating image verification at the source, Henry Schein One is eliminating upstream issues and reducing preventable errors.

“Every year, the industry loses billions of dollars to preventable denials – from incomplete documentation to missing images to manual errors that require costly rework,” said Dr. Ryan Hungate, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer at Henry Schein One. “Image Verify is an important advancement, and it’s part of a bigger mission. We’ve been reengineering the entire workflow inside Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend. Together, these innovations form a connected system to help eliminate errors before submission. That’s how we make clean claims possible – helping practices reduce rework, avoid time-consuming calls to insurers, and accelerate reimbursement.”

Image Verify automatically reviews diagnostic dental images – such as bitewings and panoramic radiographs – to ensure they are clear and high quality. Team members can immediately determine whether image quality is sufficient, eliminating the need to interrupt appointments for retakes and allowing clinicians to focus more fully on patient care.

The team at Great Lakes Dental Partners has adopted this new technology.

“As we continue to modernize our revenue cycle workflows, tools like Image Verify represent a meaningful step forward,” said Khuzaan Screwvalla, Vice President of IT at Great Lakes Dental Partners. “By improving image quality and documentation accuracy on the front end, all the while maintaining our single pane of glass ethos, we’re able to submit cleaner claims, strengthen the patient experience, and drive greater consistency across our practices. It’s a powerful foundation for scaling efficiently and confidently.”

Image Verify is among the latest Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend-native technologies designed to improve revenue cycle management. Additionally, Dentrix customers will receive access to the new Claims Manager this month, providing a centralized hub that streamlines claim review, improves visibility, and optimizes the overall claims management workflow.

(Photo by Brandon Sloter/Image Of Sport/Getty Images) Getty Images St. Louis Cardinals lifer Adam Wainwright is a pretty easygoing guy, and not unlikely to talk with you about baseball traditions and barbecue, or even share a joke. That personality came out last week during our Zoom call when I mentioned for the first time that I’m a Chicago Cubs fan. He responded to the mention of my fandom, “So far, I don’t think this interview is going very well.” Yet, Wainwright will return to Busch Stadium on September 19 on a more serious note, this time to honor another former Cardinal and friend, the late Darryl Kile. Wainwright will take the mound not as a starting pitcher, but to throw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Joining him on the mound will be Kile’s daughter, Sierra, as the two help launch a new program called Playing with Heart. “Darryl’s passing was a reminder that heart disease doesn’t discriminate, even against elite athletes in peak physical shape,” Wainwright said. “This program is about helping people recognize the risks, take action, and hopefully save lives.” Wainwright, who played for the St. Louis Cardinals as a starting pitcher from 2005 to 2023, aims to merge the essence of baseball tradition with a crucial message about heart health. Kile, a beloved pitcher for the Cardinals, tragically passed away in 2002 at the age of 33 as a result of early-onset heart disease. His sudden death shook the baseball world and left a lasting impact on teammates, fans, and especially his family. Now, more than two decades later, Sierra Kile is stepping forward with Wainwright to…
