Plynk adds traditional and Roth IRAs to its all-in-one investing platform, with built-in educational guardrails to help new savers navigate retirement options

Plynk®, the award-winning app designed to simplify the investing experience and empower users with confidence-boosting tools, announced the launch of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), including both traditional and Roth options.

The launch comes at a time when many individuals are rethinking how they prepare for long-term financial security, particularly as freelancing, entrepreneurship, and creator-driven careers reshape traditional employment. A Plynk survey revealed that as of January 23, 50% of respondents don’t yet have an IRA and 74% want more education on at least one aspect of IRAs. By offering these account options, the Plynk app aims to meet investors where they are while helping them plan for where they want to go tomorrow.

With built-in education and guardrails to help people avoid common mistakes, the app offers a simple way for investors to choose the type of IRA that aligns with their personal situation and goals. This expanded offering aims to empower users to make informed retirement savings decisions, helping users build confidence and work towards long-term wealth even as the landscape changes.

“The beginning of the year is when many people pause and take stock of their financial direction,” said Kristin Kanders, Head of Marketing and Engagement, the Plynk app. “Too often, retirement planning feels like something people will figure out ‘later.’ We want to change that mindset. With intuitive IRA options built directly into the app, investors can easily take meaningful steps toward long-term security .”

While traditional IRAs can provide tax-advantages now, Roth IRAs can offer added flexibility and tax-free growth that may resonate with a new generation of investors. In addition to retirement planning, Roth IRAs can be leveraged to support broader financial goals, such as:

  • Access to contributions at any time without taxes or penalties
  • Potential tax-free qualified withdrawals in retirement
  • Flexibility to support long-term life goals, such as saving for a first home or other major milestones

“There are too many people who feel overwhelmed by retirement planning or just don’t know which retirement savings options are the best fit for them,” said Jared Hubbard, Product Manager, the Plynk app. “We’re focused on removing that friction. Our new IRA offerings, combined with a simple, intuitive interface and built‑in educational tools, make long‑term planning more accessible.”
