TMZ founder Harvey Levin revealed Thursday night that he received another email from someone claiming to know the person who took Nancy Guthrie almost two weeks ago.

The new email, Levin said on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront," paints a "bleak picture" of Guthrie's case.

Levin described the letter as "ominous" and revealed that the person who sent it is asking for a payment in Bitcoin because they will have to go "underground" if they reveal who took Guthrie. Levin added that the letter appeared to be written by the same person who communicated with TMZ about Guthrie on Wednesday.

He also said TMZ had shared both emails with law enforcement.

"We made it very clear yesterday that we forwarded yesterday's to law enforcement, we forwarded this one to law enforcement, and said that if this is a hoax, it's a crime," Levin told Burnett. "It's a federal crime. And this person came back and is really saying, 'Look, this is the last time I'm going to send you anything, but I know who this kidnapper is, and I can lead you to him.'

There was also a part of the email that disturbed Levin because the author painted a "bleak picture."

"The situation has changed," Levin said. "I don't want to go beyond that. But if this person is real, then this is a dire situation."
