President Donald Trump's border adviser Tom Homan was confronted by reporters about the incident with Customs and Border Protection that shut off airspace around El Paso, Texas — but he didn't have any answers to give on the subject.
"Sorry to go a little off topic here, but can you confirm that CBP actually hit a party balloon instead of a drone with laser during the incident in El Paso?" asked a reporter. "And why wasn't that action coordinated with the FAA?"
"I have no information on that. It's out of my league," replied Homan.
The question came during an announcement that the Department of Homeland Security would be drawing down operations in Minneapolis, after weeks of crackdowns and protests that shocked the nation.
