Bittensor (TAO) is getting mentioned again, even with prices shaky across crypto market. DCG CEO Barry Silbert recently listed TAO as one of his key picks for the next capital rotation.

Even Claude AI’s 2026 crypto forecast highlighted TAO as a major AI-focused asset going into this year. Staking updates from Bitvavo also added another layer, with yields now reaching up to 2.60%.

The TAO price is trading around $185.85, and the question is simple: what could a $5,000 position look like by 2027?

TAO Is Still One of the Pure AI Crypto Bets

Bittensor is not a typical crypto project. It is built around decentralized AI services, where subnets compete to deliver useful machine learning outputs.

This keeps Bittensor (TAO) aligned with the AI theme, which is why the larger investors have begun to talk about it more.

The next big milestone is the plan to increase the number of subnets from 128 to 256. The more subnets, the more space for developers to create, and the more TAO is required within the network. If this scaling works smoothly, demand can grow with the ecosystem.

Other factors sit in the background, like privacy and quantum-resistant upgrades, which strengthen the protocol over time.

The biggest wildcard is Grayscale’s pending ETF decision. Approval could open a regulated path for institutional money, while delays would push that impact further out.

What $5,000 Could Look Like by 2027

At $185.85, a $5,000 investment buys about 26.9 TAO.

If adoption slows and the market stays weak, the TAO price falling toward $100 would put that position near $2,700.

If Bittensor continues building steadily and holds a stronger AI premium, TAO trading around $250 to $350 would value the investment near $6,700 to $9,400.

If the subnet expansion becomes even faster and an ETF unlocks institutional interest, a move towards $600 would increase $5,000 to around $16,000.

Moreover, TAO is where the crypto and AI infrastructure meet. The next two years will depend on implementation, such as subnet development, protocol development, and the expansion of institutional access through a regulated product.

In 2027, the bullish scenario is very much real, and it all boils down to one thing. Bittensor needs to keep growing into something larger than a narrative.

Thomas Massie, R-Ky., who is leading a separate effort to force the Justice Department to release more Epstein case materials, voting alongside Democrats. The vote, if successful, would have resulted in the issuing of subpoenas to JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, Deutsche Bank CEO Christian Sewing and Bank of New York Mellon CEO Robin Vince. The subpoenas would have specifically looked into multiple reports that claimed the four banks flagged $1.5 billion in suspicious transactions linked to Epstein. The failed effort from Democrats followed an FBI oversight hearing in which agency director Kash Patel misleadingly claimed the FBI cannot release many of the files it has on Epstein. And, of course, if it’s a legal requirement, we would conform to it. We have no issue with that.” Chief Critic “Republicans had the chance to subpoena the CEOs of JPMorgan, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, and Bank of New York Mellon to expose Epstein’s money trail,” the House Judiciary Democrats said in a tweet. “Instead, they tried to bury…
