'Cancun better be ready': Ted Cruz mocked after secret recordings revealed

A bombshell report on Sunday revealed a ten-minute secret recording over the course of two events in which Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) met with donors and trashed the president and vice president.

Among the allegations from Cruz is that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson created Vice President JD Vance, highlighted MS NOW's Molly Jong Fast.

“Zoom in: During his talks, Cruz cast Vance as a pawn of conservative podcaster Tucker Carlson. Cruz has accused Carlson of promoting antisemitism and an anti-Israel foreign policy in their well-publicized spats.”In response to the revelations, several couldn't help but remark about their shock while also laughing at Cruz, whom even President Donald Trump seems to be annoyed by," Axios reported.

"The only question is why he isn’t saying this publicly? Because he’s right," asked a Republican Trump loyalist, Jenna Ellis, who served on the his 2020 legal defense team.

"I did not have 'Ted Cruz auditions for Never Trump' on my bingo card for today," quipped the Lincoln Project's Rick Wilson.

Former Democratic Party chairman Jamie Harrison wasn't surprised. Writing on X, "Of course they are secret… he doesn’t have the backbone to say it to Trump’s face."

"Ted Cruz believes basically nothing and everything he does in public is a performance, this is well known," commented columnist Zaid Jilani.

Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Penn.) joked, "Bad weather and a secret recording. Cancún better be ready for Teddy." It's a reference to Cruz's escape from Texas to Mexico during a winter storm that killed hundreds and took out power across the state.

"Every Republican is like this behind the scenes. They hate Trump. They trash him constantly. They are just too cowardly to say it publicly - and that’s why they don’t deserve to hold office. If you want to stand for office, you have to actually stand for something!" said Professor Adam Cochran.

Another comment allegedly from Cruz that was in the report is that the senator told Trump over the phone that the tariffs were dangerous for the economy. Ultimately, Cruz said, Trump simply said, "F— you, Ted!"

Some mused that it is remarkable that truly everyone hates Cruz.

The Voter Protection Project commented, "A lot of Republicans (Ted Cruz included) trash Trump in private. In public? Silence. Loyalty act. All hat, no cattle. Cowards shouldn’t hold power."

The post The FDA Is Trying To Make Corporate Free Speech Situational appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. BENSENVILLE, ILLINOIS – SEPTEMBER 10: Flanked by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi (rear), and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary (R), Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks to the press outside Midwest Distribution after it was raided by federal agents on September 10, 2025 in Bensenville, Illinois. According to the company, various e-liquids were seized in the raid. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images) Getty Images While running for President in 2008, Barack Obama famously chanted “Yes we can.” Love or hate his political views, Obama’s politics were quite effective. He was asking voters to think big, to envision a much better future. Advertisers no doubt approved. That’s because ads routinely evoke things not as they are, but as they could be. Gyms and exercise equipment companies don’t promote their locations and equipment with flabby, lumbering people, rather their ads show fit, upright, energetic individuals. A look ahead. Restaurants do the same with ads showing happy people enjoying impressively put together plates of food. Conversely, ads meant to convince smokers to quit have not infrequently shown the worst of the worst future downsides of the habit. The nature of advertising comes to mind as FDA commissioner Marty Makary puzzlingly brags that “The Trump Administration Is Taking On Big Pharma” in the New York Times. Makary laments pharmaceutical ads that “are filled with dancing patients, glowing smiles and catch jingles that drown out the fine print.” Not explained is whether Makary would be happier if drug companies placed ads with immobile patients, frowns, and funereal music. Seriously, what does he expect? Does he want drug companies to commit billions to drug development to accompany their achievements with imagery defined by misery? Has Makary stopped to contemplate the myriad shareholders lawsuits drugmakers would face if, upon risking staggering sums meant…
