Neil Diamond has all but retired from his music career. The singer-songwriter hasn’t delivered a new album of original material in years, and in 2018 the superstar announced that he would not tour any longer after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Diamond’s music remains popular, and his name occasionally appears on the charts thanks to his dozens of successful songs. Recently, the bestselling artist’s music was thrust back into the spotlight thanks to the Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson film Song Sung Blue. The movie sees Jackman portraying a Diamond impersonator, and the rocker’s smashes are featured throughout Song Sung Blue. That project seems to have had a positive effect on Diamond in the United Kingdom, where one of his most popular releases reaches a notable milestone.

Neil Diamond’s Compilation Hits a Major Longevity Milestone

Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits returns to the Official Albums chart, the 100-spot ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the U.K. The compilation is back at No. 97 as it celebrates 100 weeks on the competitive tally.

Diamond sees one of his projects make it to 100 weeks on the Official Albums chart for only the second time in his career. Just one other full-length – his soundtrack that accompanied the movie The Jazz Singer, which starred Diamond himself – is up to 110 turns on the same ranking. While it may rank as the singer’s longest-running success on the albums roster, The Jazz Singer hasn’t been seen on the Official Albums chart since 1987.

The Jazz Singer Soundtrack’s Chart History in the U.K.

Two versions of The Jazz Singer soundtrack have appeared on the Official Albums chart, according to the Official Charts Company. The first of the pair opened on the list in November 1980 and climbed all the way to No. 3. That’s the take that is now up to 110 stays somewhere on the ranking. Another edition launched in 1996, but that soundtrack only ever lifted to No. 79 and has managed just one month somewhere on the chart.

All-Time Greatest Hits Debuted More Than a Decade Ago

Diamond debuted All-Time Greatest Hits on the Official Albums ranking back in the fall of 2014. At the time, the compilation started off at No. 31. Despite the fact that it ranks as one of his longest-running winners on the albums list, All-Time Greatest Hits has never managed to appear inside the top 10, unlike many earlier releases from the superstar. The compilation has previously peaked at No. 18, a position it climbed to in early 2021.

Neil Diamond’s Compilation Returns to Several Charts

Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits lives on four rosters in the U.K. this week, and it reappears on half of them. The compilation bounds back onto the Official Physical Albums chart at No. 24, in a much more impressive position than on the main albums list.

All-Time Greatest Hits takes up space inside the top 10 on the Official Album Downloads chart, falling from No. 5 to No. 8. At the same time, the set rockets 60 spaces north to No. 20 on the Official Albums Sales roster.

“Sweet Caroline” Continues as Neil Diamond’s Sole Hit in the U.K.

Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits includes just under two dozen of the singer-songwriter’s most celebrated tunes, but none are more popular than “Sweet Caroline.” That song is his only win in the U.K. at the moment, as it steps up more than two dozen spaces on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts. Next period, when the Official Charts Company refreshes its rosters once more, “Sweet Caroline” will celebrate 100 weeks on the list of the most-downloaded tunes throughout the nation – a feat he has never managed before.

Cryptos Signal Divergence Ahead of Fed Rate Decision

Cryptos Signal Divergence Ahead of Fed Rate Decision

The post Cryptos Signal Divergence Ahead of Fed Rate Decision appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Crypto assets send conflicting signals ahead of the Federal Reserve’s September rate decision. On-chain data reveals a clear decrease in Bitcoin and Ethereum flowing into centralized exchanges, but a sharp increase in altcoin inflows. The findings come from a Tuesday report by CryptoQuant, an on-chain data platform. The firm’s data shows a stark divergence in coin volume, which has been observed in movements onto centralized exchanges over the past few weeks. Bitcoin and Ethereum Inflows Drop to Multi-Month Lows Sponsored Sponsored Bitcoin has seen a dramatic drop in exchange inflows, with the 7-day moving average plummeting to 25,000 BTC, its lowest level in over a year. The average deposit per transaction has fallen to 0.57 BTC as of September. This suggests that smaller retail investors, rather than large-scale whales, are responsible for the recent cash-outs. Ethereum is showing a similar trend, with its daily exchange inflows decreasing to a two-month low. CryptoQuant reported that the 7-day moving average for ETH deposits on exchanges is around 783,000 ETH, the lowest in two months. Other Altcoins See Renewed Selling Pressure In contrast, other altcoin deposit activity on exchanges has surged. The number of altcoin deposit transactions on centralized exchanges was quite steady in May and June of this year, maintaining a 7-day moving average of about 20,000 to 30,000. Recently, however, that figure has jumped to 55,000 transactions. Altcoins: Exchange Inflow Transaction Count. Source: CryptoQuant CryptoQuant projects that altcoins, given their increased inflow activity, could face relatively higher selling pressure compared to BTC and ETH. Meanwhile, the balance of stablecoins on exchanges—a key indicator of potential buying pressure—has increased significantly. The report notes that the exchange USDT balance, around $273 million in April, grew to $379 million by August 31, marking a new yearly high. CryptoQuant interprets this surge as a reflection of…
