For the first time in more than 15 years, Linkin Park is nominated for a Grammy. Two of them, in fact, as the group’s comeback project From Zero is in the running for Best Rock Album, while the set’s lead single, “The Emptiness Machine,” could claim Best Rock Performance in just a few weeks.
The band may be focusing on From Zero and the many singles pushed from the long-awaited album, but a quick look at the charts in the United Kingdom shows that listeners in that nation are largely focused on the full-lengths that made Linkin Park one of the most exciting and commercially successful names in hard rock decades ago.
The outfit sees two early collections return, multiple albums climb, and the band manages to dominate one genre-specific tally, beating out some very stiff competition.
Meteora Leads Linkin Park’s Albums Comebacks

Four full-lengths by Linkin Park chart in the U.K. this week, and two of them manage to reappear on at least one list. Between those comebacks, Meteora is the most impressive, as it’s the only title by the group that sneaks back onto a pair of rankings.
Meteora, Linkin Park’s sophomore studio effort, breaks back onto the main ranking of the most consumed albums in the nation, where it can be found at No. 89. At the same time, that bestseller narrowly manages to find space on the Official Albums Streaming chart, settling in second-to-last place at No. 99 on the 100-spot roster.
Hybrid Theory Reappears Alongside Meteora
Hybrid Theory, the first LP by the band sometimes referred to as LP, only reappears on one tally, the Official Album Downloads chart. The early-career blockbuster is back at No. 96 and is once again counted as one of the bestselling projects of any genre and from any era on digital storefronts like iTunes throughout the U.K.

Both Hybrid Theory and Meteora have spent months on the charts they return to, and they have previously spent time inside the top 10. Meteora once dominated the Official Albums chart and peaked in sixth place on the streaming roster, while Hybrid Theory climbed as high as No. 3 on the Official Album Downloads ranking.
Meteora Climbs as Other Linkin Park Albums Move Around
Meteora only manages to make a home on one additional tally, the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, where it improves from No. 24 to No. 17. Hybrid Theory, meanwhile, takes up space on half a dozen rankings, only reappearing on one. The introductory project slips on the Official Albums list, holds on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Rock & Metal Albums rankings, and improves to No. 21 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Vinyl Albums tallies at the same time.
Two More
Two other collections by Linkin Park, Papercuts, a compilation of singles by the band, and From Zero, occupy slots on a trio of tallies. The only crossover between them is on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, where both are on the rise.
Linkin Park Dominates the Rock and Metal Songs Chart
Linkin Park’s performance across a variety of album-focused rankings in the U.K. is notable, but the group’s dominance can be understood best by looking at the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. On that list, which looks only at the bestselling individual cuts that can be classified as rock, hard rock, or metal by the Official Charts Company, the Grammy-winning outfit claims seven smashes.
“Numb,” “The Emptiness Machine,” “What I’ve Done,” and “One Step Closer” all step up from last time around, landing at Nos. 8, 22, 23, and 32, respectively. “Somewhere I Belong” and “Faint” are comfortable where they sat last week, at Nos. 12 and 15, respectively. “Crawling” rounds out the group’s list of bestsellers, as it returns to the 40-spot roster in last place.
AC/DC Trails Linkin Park’s Bevy of Smashes
Linkin Park fills more spots on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart than any other group. In fact, the hard rock and rap pioneers perform as well as the next two most successful names combined. AC/DC lands in second place in terms of the artists with the most wins, as the Australian rockers claim four successes. Queen, Green Day, and Guns N’ Roses are tied for third place with three each.
