Gate launches a "Precious Metals Zone," with 24-hour trading available for gold and silver perpetual contracts.

Gate.io, a leading global digital asset trading platform, has officially launched its "Precious Metals Zone," initially offering XAU (gold) and XAG (silver) USDT-margined perpetual contracts. These contracts support leverage up to 50x and provide 24/7 uninterrupted trading. Trading in these contracts officially opened on January 14th at 17:00 (UTC+8). Users can access the Precious Metals Zone through the contract page on the Gate.io website or app.

Traditional safe-haven assets are being "cryptofied," ushering in a 24-hour trading era for precious metals.

Since 2026, precious metal prices have generally strengthened. Data shows that spot gold has risen nearly 7% year-to-date, breaking through $4,600; spot silver has seen an even greater increase of 23%, significantly outperforming mainstream crypto assets such as Bitcoin. Gate's newly launched XAU and XAG USDT perpetual contracts enable 24/7 trading through crypto contract mechanisms, providing precious metal assets with a more efficient price discovery and risk management tool.

At the product mechanism level, the Gate Precious Metals Perpetual Contract Index references prices from multiple comprehensive precious metals trading markets, enhancing pricing transparency and stability and providing a more reliable price basis for contract trading. This design, while adhering to the asset pricing logic of TradeFi, also meets the risk control needs of high-frequency trading and derivatives in the crypto market.

Multiple trading scenarios, connecting TradeFi and Crypto user needs

From a user perspective, perpetual contracts for precious metals can be widely used in strategies such as macro hedging, market swing trading, cross-market arbitrage, and asset hedging. On the one hand, traditional financial users can achieve more flexible trading with the help of crypto contracts without changing their familiar asset base; on the other hand, native crypto traders can also incorporate gold and silver into their asset portfolios to improve their overall risk diversification capabilities.

From a product structure and market positioning perspective, Gate's launch of the precious metals perpetual contract zone introduces traditional safe-haven assets into the crypto derivatives system in a standardized, tradable contract format. This model not only expands the asset boundaries of the crypto contract market but also provides new tools for capital allocation and strategy synergy across different markets.

Leveraging its platform advantages, TradFi continues to expand its product portfolio.

As one of the world's leading crypto asset trading platforms, Gate has accumulated mature experience in derivatives trading, liquidity depth, and risk control systems. The launch of this precious metals zone further enriches Gate's TradeFi product portfolio and reflects its long-term strategy of connecting traditional finance with the crypto market.

Gate stated that it will continue to evaluate the possibility of encrypting more traditional asset classes in the future, and gradually expand into index, commodity and diversified derivatives trading scenarios under the framework of compliance and risk control, so as to promote the evolution of the crypto trading platform into a more comprehensive global financial infrastructure.

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

The post UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The UK and US are reportedly preparing to deepen cooperation on digital assets, with Britain looking to copy the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly stance in a bid to boost innovation.  UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed on Tuesday how the two nations could strengthen their coordination on crypto, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.  The discussions also involved representatives from crypto companies, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group and Ripple, with executives from the Bank of America, Barclays and Citi also attending, according to the report. The agreement was made “last-minute” after crypto advocacy groups urged the UK government on Thursday to adopt a more open stance toward the industry, claiming its cautious approach to the sector has left the country lagging in innovation and policy.  Source: Rachel Reeves Deal to include stablecoins, look to unlock adoption Any deal between the countries is likely to include stablecoins, the Financial Times reported, an area of crypto that US President Donald Trump made a policy priority and in which his family has significant business interests. The Financial Times reported on Monday that UK crypto advocacy groups also slammed the Bank of England’s proposal to limit individual stablecoin holdings to between 10,000 British pounds ($13,650) and 20,000 pounds ($27,300), claiming it would be difficult and expensive to implement. UK banks appear to have slowed adoption too, with around 40% of 2,000 recently surveyed crypto investors saying that their banks had either blocked or delayed a payment to a crypto provider.  Many of these actions have been linked to concerns over volatility, fraud and scams. The UK has made some progress on crypto regulation recently, proposing a framework in May that would see crypto exchanges, dealers, and agents treated similarly to traditional finance firms, with…

Headwind Helps Best Wallet Token

Headwind Helps Best Wallet Token

The post Headwind Helps Best Wallet Token appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Google has announced the launch of a new open-source protocol called Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) in partnership with Coinbase, the Ethereum Foundation, and 60 other organizations. This allows AI agents to make payments on behalf of users using various methods such as real-time bank transfers, credit and debit cards, and, most importantly, stablecoins. Let’s explore in detail what this could mean for the broader cryptocurrency markets, and also highlight a presale crypto (Best Wallet Token) that could explode as a result of this development. Google’s Push for Stablecoins Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) uses digital contracts known as ‘Intent Mandates’ and ‘Verifiable Credentials’ to ensure that AI agents undertake only those payments authorized by the user. Mandates, by the way, are cryptographically signed, tamper-proof digital contracts that act as verifiable proof of a user’s instruction. For example, let’s say you instruct an AI agent to never spend more than $200 in a single transaction. This instruction is written into an Intent Mandate, which serves as a digital contract. Now, whenever the AI agent tries to make a payment, it must present this mandate as proof of authorization, which will then be verified via the AP2 protocol. Alongside this, Google has also launched the A2A x402 extension to accelerate support for the Web3 ecosystem. This production-ready solution enables agent-based crypto payments and will help reshape the growth of cryptocurrency integration within the AP2 protocol. Google’s inclusion of stablecoins in AP2 is a massive vote of confidence in dollar-pegged cryptocurrencies and a huge step toward making them a mainstream payment option. This widens stablecoin usage beyond trading and speculation, positioning them at the center of the consumption economy. The recent enactment of the GENIUS Act in the U.S. gives stablecoins more structure and legal support. Imagine paying for things like data crawls, per-task…
