MANILA, Philippines – A total of 5,594 takers passed the 2025 Bar Examinations, the Supreme Court announced on Wednesday, January 7.
This translates to a 48.98% passing rate or nearly 5 passers out of 10 examinees. This rate is higher compared to the passing rate of 37.84% in 2024.
Associate Justice Amy Lazaro Javier, who retires in November, chaired this year’s Bar.
A total of 11,425 takers completed the three-day examinations held in September 2025. The exams were conducted in 14 local testing centers across the country:
- University of Santo Tomas
- San Beda University
- New Era University
- Manila Adventist College
- San Beda College Alabang
- University of the Philippines – BGC
- Ateneo de Manila University School of Law
- Saint Louis University
- University of Nueva Caceres
- University of San Jose-Recoletos
- Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation
- Central Philippine University
- Ateneo de Davao University
- Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology
Like in previous years, the exams were digitalized.
This year’s examinations covered the following areas: Political and Public International Law, Commercial and Taxation Laws, Civil Law, Labor Law and Social Legislations, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises.
Successful examinees will take part in the oath-taking ceremony and signing of the Roll of Attorneys scheduled in February. – Rappler.com
