The year 2025 has witnessed a notable spike in blockchain activity. Specifically, a notable competition has taken place among the blockchains in terms of fee generation in 2025. As per the data from Nansen, Solana, Tron, and Ethereum, have led this overall contest. Overall, this indicates the wider blockchain adoption and increased transfer volumes.

Solana Leads Blockchain Landscape in Fee Generation, Hitting $605.66M in 2025

Solana has occupied the top position in the fee race among the blockchains in 2025. In this respect, Solana has collected a cumulative $605.66M in terms of fees. At the same time, it has witnessed a 49% rise in active addresses over the year, hitting 1,053,151,966. Subsequently, Tron took the 2nd spot, with a total valuation of $581.65M coming from fees. Particularly, the blockchain has gone through a 15% increase in active addresses, reaching 103,109,603.

Following that, Ethereum emerged as the 3rd top blockchain. Specifically, it has generated a cumulative $521.98M in fees throughout 2025. Along with that, the active addresses of the blockchain touched 64,034,821, denoting a 28% surge over the year. Additionally, the BNB Chain has obtained the 4th position among the blockchains, with its fees generating $259.06M in 2025. Coming after that, Bitcoin sits in the 5th place among 2025’s key blockchains when it comes to fee generation. Thus, it generated up to $172.53M during 2025.

Ton Bottoms List with $9.46M in Fee Generation

According to Nansen’s data, Base’s annual fee generation of $78.36M has placed it at the 6th position among 2025’s top blockchains. Apart from that, Arbitrum, Bitlayer, and Suit have generated $18.91M, $12.62M, and $9.88M during 2025, respectively. Ultimately, Ton has gained the 10th spot among 2025’s prominent blockchains, with its fee generation reaching $9.46M.

British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. This condition should, in theory, reduce the risk of sudden platform failures or unclear accountability. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong.
