Anthropic has announced the donation of its Model Context Protocol to the Agentic AI Foundation, fostering collaboration and innovation in AI development.

Anthropic, a prominent AI safety and research company, has announced the donation of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) to the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF). This strategic move aims to enhance collaboration and innovation in the AI sector, according to Anthropic.

Model Context Protocol Achievements

Since its introduction a year ago, the Model Context Protocol has seen widespread adoption across various platforms and infrastructure. Over 10,000 public MCP servers are now active, serving a wide range of applications from developer tools to Fortune 500 companies. This protocol has been integrated into popular AI products like ChatGPT, Cursor, and Microsoft Copilot, among others.

Enterprise-grade support for MCP has been established with deployment options from major providers such as AWS, Cloudflare, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Anthropic continues to invest in the growth of MCP, expanding its capabilities with advanced tool use and programmatic tool calling features, which optimize production-scale deployments.

Linux Foundation and Agentic AI Foundation

The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization renowned for its stewardship of critical open-source projects, will oversee the Agentic AI Foundation. AAIF is a collaborative initiative co-founded by Anthropic, Block, and OpenAI, with backing from industry giants like Google, Microsoft, and AWS. The foundation’s mission is to ensure the transparent and collaborative evolution of agentic AI technologies.

The donation of MCP to the AAIF will see it join other foundational projects such as Block’s “goose” and OpenAI’s “AGENTS.md.” This collaboration aims to maintain the neutrality and openness of these technologies while fostering community-driven innovation.

Future of Model Context Protocol

With the donation to the Linux Foundation, Anthropic reaffirms its commitment to keeping MCP as an open-source, community-driven standard. The governance model of MCP will remain unchanged, prioritizing community input and transparent decision-making. This move underscores the importance of open-source software in creating a secure and innovative ecosystem for agentic AI.

Arbitrageurs profited over $40 million from pricing mismatches on Polymarket in a single year.

Arbitrageurs profited over $40 million from pricing mismatches on Polymarket in a single year.

PANews reported on September 18th that, according to Decrypt, a new academic paper revealed systematic pricing biases on the prediction market platform Polymarket, allowing arbitrageurs to profit from it by over $40 million in a single year. The paper, titled "Unraveling the Probability Forest: Arbitrage Opportunities in Prediction Markets," analyzed data from April 2024 to April 2025 and found pricing errors in over 7,000 markets. The research identified two primary arbitrage patterns: one where the sum of "yes/no" share prices in the same market deviates from the theoretical value of $1; and the other where probability divergences occur in logically related markets (such as "Trump wins" and "Republicans win"). By simultaneously buying and selling related contracts, traders can achieve risk-free returns. While arbitrage activity ultimately leads to market price inequality, research indicates that pricing misalignments can persist for hours. This phenomenon is not limited to Polymarket but also occurs on regulated platforms such as Kalshi.
