They deliver the feel-good warmth people crave this time of year, spinning magic out of everyday circumstances and always bringing together the two main characters for a happy ending. Their predictability only makes them more lovable for loyal audiences who enjoy the famous tropes. This year, Hallmark began premiering its Christmas movies in October, and it will bow more than a dozen leading up to Christmas day. Here is a ranking of the best Hallmark Christmas movies of 2025 based on descriptions, social media buzz and critical reception.

15. An Alpine Holiday (November 29)

Another Hallmark holiday favorite, Ashley Williams, stars in this film about estranged sisters who reunite for Christmas in the French Alps, recreating a trip they took with their grandfather. Kelly (Laci J. Mailey) even finds romance with their cute mountaineering guide. But most of all, the sisters learn that their bond is the most important thing to them both.

Ghostwriter Sabrina (Jessy Schram) is incredibly excited to begin her new assignment working for a famous art dealer during Christmas week. Staying at a grand hotel, she meets a British aristocrat, Ian (Dominic Sherwood), who thinks she’s a wealthy traveler. Turns out Ian isn’t exactly what he seems either—but sparks fly between them as they tour New York City together.

12. Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper (October 25)

Hometown return alert! When cheerful weatherman Ted Cooper (Robert Buckley) goes back to his small New York hometown, he’s hoping to outrun the run of bad Christmas luck he’s had the last three years. Things aren’t looking good after he falls off a ladder on his first day back, but during his trip to urgent care, he encounters his former high school crush (Kimberley Sustad), now a doctor who similarly has eyes for him.

Nell (Lyndsy Fonseca) hates being alone on Christmas. After her usual family plans fall through, she decides to spend the week before the holiday doing the things she loves—and taking some advice from happy single Cooper (Daniel Lissing), her handsome neighbor. Unfortunately, Nell learns that Cooper was only spending time with her because he felt sorry for her—did she imagine their spark?

Holly (Laura Vandervoot) is an aspiring glassblower who displays her wares under a pseudonym at the prestigious local fair after being rejected by Jack (Stephen Huszar), who oversees the entries. When Holly’s glass starts outshining even the fair’s biggest names, she’s faced with a dilemma, since she and Jack have grown closer throughout the holiday season.

The Keller family parents decide to bring together their three children for a holiday cruise on the Danube River—but the siblings aren’t feeling the family togetherness. Perfect for sports fans, this film tells the story of two families who are members of the Bills Mafia, the hardcore devotees who make up the Buffalo Bills’ fandom. Gabe (Matthew Daddario) has always been in love with his next-door neighbor, Morgan (Holland Roden), and so he’s happy to help when Morgan comes to him with a family mystery she needs to solve before Christmas. The movie includes cameos from Bills coach Sean McDermott and players including Damar Hamlin.

7. Tidings for the Season (November 16)

TV movie favorite Tamera Mowry-Housely plays a single mother (Lucy) whose 10-year-old son approaches Adam (B.J. Britt), a local newscaster, to encourage him to tell more positive stories. As Adam and Lucy grow closer, he begins to recognize the importance of sharing good news with the world, and his stories reflect his new feel-good outlook. But will Adam stay with Lucy or go with a new job offer in a different town? (You probably know the answer.)

6. Christmas at the Catnip Cafe (November 30)

Olivia (Erin Cahill) journeys from California to a small New York town at Christmastime to sell her share in a cat café left to her by a great aunt—the sale will be the perfect way to finance her new condo. Alas, the veterinarian who owns the other half, Ben (Paul Campbell), wants to stay in business. She compromises by promising to help out for a bit before selling—giving her time to realize the joy of the special place.

5. Oy to the World (December 14)

Hallmark has opened its holiday movies to a handful of Hanukkah movies. The latest has Christmas Eve and the final night of Hanukkah falling on the same night, and the members of a local temple needing to go to the church across the street to celebrate after a water pipe bursts. This brings together former high school rivals Nikki (Brooke D’Orsay) and Jake (Jake Epstein), the leaders of the church and temple choirs, to put on a show together. Of course, sparks fly.

Couple Liv (Hunter King) and Daniel (Evan Roderick) can only agree on one thing right now—they need a break from each other. Their timing couldn’t be worse, though, as their families are coming to town for their first joint Christmas. They decide to pretend they’re still a happy pair, only the more they keep pretending, the more their old feelings start to resurface.

3. A Grand Ole Opry Christmas (November 29)

Gentry (Nikki DeLoach) returns to the Grand Ole Opry decades after her famous country singer father suffered an accident that led Gentry to abandon her own dreams of stardom. She is somehow transported back to 1995, when she gets to spend more time with her father and get answers to questions that have plagued her—while accompanied by a lifelong friend (Kristoffer Polaha).

This film takes viewers back to 1905, when Newport, Rhode Island, socialite Ella (Ginna Claire Mason) makes a wish for a different life after her father says he’s found a husband for her. Ella somehow awakens in 2025, where she falls in love with a handsome sailor and historian. Despite being happy with her new life, she realizes she must go back to ensure she puts Newport on the right path in history.

Annie (Autumn Reeser) and Dave (Niall Matter) have a meet-cute at a magical holiday hotel—but they fail to get each other’s contact information, and spend the rest of the movie trying (and often hilariously failing) to reconnect. By the time they have reunited (not such a spoiler), they have learned a lot about themselves and what they value during the holidays, a classic theme of Hallmark Christmas movies.
