  • By securing these domains, Cardano will strengthen global digital presence and unlock new Web2–Web3 innovations.
  • Cardano announced it is preparing to participate in ICANN’s application period for new generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs).

The Cardano Foundation has approved two governance proposals. According to updates, the community approved the governance proposal to obtain the .ada and .cardano generic top-level domains by 74.5%. The foundation stated that it will begin drafting applications to ICANN and will collaborate with the community as the process progresses.

Cardano Foundation to Collaborate with ICANN in Securing Top-Level Domains

The Cardano Foundation announced it is getting ready to engage in ICANN’s application period for new generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs) set to begin in Q1 2026. This marks the opportunity of this kind since 2012. With community support, the foundation intends to submit applications for the .ada and .cardano gTLDs funded by its own budget.

The Cardano Foundation noted that securing these domains will let participants within the Cardano ecosystem secure corresponding addresses, such as nmkr.cardano or vespr.ada. Back in 2023, ICANN announced its first application, and the project has been under review since then.

Furthermore, the Cardano Foundation has also set up a diverse team that includes community experts and vendors, wherein they will work on the project to support the application process and the long-term management of the proposed gTLDs. By applying to secure the .ada and .cardano domains, the Foundation will achieve its major objectives:

  • The first is to boost Cardano’s visibility, improve trust, and boost the platform’s credibility within the global internet landscape.
  • The other is unlocking new innovation opportunities that would allow builders or users to work on new services and tools that bridge Web2 and Web3.

Latest Developments In the Ecosystem

The Candano Foundation has agreed to a $2.08 million treasury withdrawal proposal, as mentioned in our previous story. This proposal seeks to expand the global exchange listings for Cardano’s native ADA token and other ecosystem tokens such as SNEK.

The Foundation noted that it has addressed the previous concerns. Moreover, it remains committed to looking after all the pending issues once the final loan agreement is finalized between Snek, Intersect, and Cardano’s governance bodies. The move introduces a new financing mechanism within the Cardano governance framework.

Furthermore, the team has overcome a recent performance issue ahead of the much-awaited Midnight (NIGHT) token launch. Last Friday, the mainnet began experiencing slower block production due to a congested node version under heavy network load. However, the team at Cardano has successfully overcome it.

Frank Sinatra performs on his TV special Frank Sinatra: A Man and his Music Bettmann Archive These days on the Billboard charts, Frank Sinatra’s music can always be found on the jazz-specific rankings. While the art he created when he was still working was pop at the time, and later classified as traditional pop, there is no such list for the latter format in America, and so his throwback projects and cuts appear on jazz lists instead. It’s on those charts where Sinatra rebounds this week, and one of his popular projects returns not to one, but two tallies at the same time, helping him increase the total amount of real estate he owns at the moment. Frank Sinatra’s The World We Knew Returns Sinatra’s The World We Knew is a top performer again, if only on the jazz lists. That set rebounds to No. 15 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart and comes in at No. 20 on the all-encompassing Jazz Albums ranking after not appearing on either roster just last frame. The World We Knew’s All-Time Highs The World We Knew returns close to its all-time peak on both of those rosters. Sinatra’s classic has peaked at No. 11 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart, just missing out on becoming another top 10 for the crooner. The set climbed all the way to No. 15 on the Jazz Albums tally and has now spent just under two months on the rosters. Frank Sinatra’s Album With Classic Hits Sinatra released The World We Knew in the summer of 1967. The title track, which on the album is actually known as “The World We Knew (Over and…
