‘Most Prestigious Gymnastics Competition On U.S. Soil’ is back. USA Gymnastics announced Monday that the American Cup will return to the organization’s competition calendar for the first time since 2020.

The event will be held on March 7 at the Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nevada.

Last held in 2020 – just days before the COVID-19 pandemic and shutdown – the American Cup had been a fixture in USA Gymnastics for years. The event was first held in 1976, when a packed Madison Square Garden watched as Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci delivered a 10.0 to win the first women’s all-around title.

Americans Morgan Hurd and Sam Mikulak won the 2020 all-around titles, and the pair will remain the last individual all-around winners in the competition’s long history. The event’s resurrection in 2026 comes with a twist: a new format.

Excluding the 2005 edition (when organizers awarded individual event titles), the event has operated exclusively as an individual all-around competition, comprised of eight men and eight women (two American, six international).

Mixed-Team Format Meets American Cup

In what USA Gymnastics describes as a “sneak peek into the LA28 Olympics,” the American Cup will now function as a mixed team event.

The IOC announced the shocking debut of a mixed team event at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics earlier this year. “Women and men will compete together for a spot on the podium,” LA2028 organizers stated.

USA Gymnastics echoed the sentiments from LA2028 Olympic organizers in Monday’s announcement regarding the American Cup.

“We are thrilled to bring back (the) American Cup in a new format,” USA Gymnastics Chief Programs Officer Stefanie Korepin said.

“Mixed team competition brings an added level of excitement, and with it now on the Olympic schedule, 2026 will be a great opportunity to generate interest and excitement for the new version of a classic event with the American Cup.”

According to USA Gymnastics, the “sneak peek” mixed team event will work as follows: “teams from eight countries will be composed of men’s and women’s gymnasts” (in line with the American Cup’s precedent).

“Athletes from each gender will perform on select apparatus, with combined scores determining team winners.”

USA Gymnastics stated that the detailed competition format will be “finalized in the coming weeks.” Confirmation of the U.S. and international rosters is forthcoming.

Crypto News: Donald Trump-Aligned Fed Governor To Speed Up Fed Rate Cuts?

The post Crypto News: Donald Trump-Aligned Fed Governor To Speed Up Fed Rate Cuts? appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. In recent crypto news, Stephen Miran swore in as the latest Federal Reserve governor on September 16, 2025, slipping into the board’s last open spot right before the Federal Open Market Committee kicks off its two-day rate discussion. Traders are betting heavily on a 25-basis-point trim, which would bring the federal funds rate down to 4.00%-4.25%, based on CME FedWatch Tool figures from September 15, 2025. Miran, who’s been Trump’s top economic advisor and a supporter of his trade ideas, joins a seven-member board where just three governors come from Democratic picks, according to the Fed’s records updated that same day. Crypto News: Miran’s Background and Quick Path to Confirmation The Senate greenlit Miran on September 15, 2025, with a tight 48-47 vote, following his nomination on September 2, 2025, as per a recent crypto news update. His stint runs only until January 31, 2026, stepping in for Adriana D. Kugler, who stepped down in August 2025 for reasons not made public. Miran earned his economics Ph.D. from Harvard and worked at the Treasury back in Trump’s first go-around. Afterward, he moved to Hudson Bay Capital Management as an economist, then looped back to the White House in December 2024 to head the Council of Economic Advisers. There, he helped craft Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs” approach, aimed at fixing trade gaps with China and the EU. He wouldn’t quit his White House gig, which irked Senator Elizabeth Warren at the September 7, 2025, confirmation hearings. That limited time frame means Miran gets to cast a vote straight away at the FOMC session starting September 16, 2025. The full board now features Chair Jerome H. Powell (Trump pick, term ends 2026), Vice Chair Philip N. Jefferson (Biden, to 2036), and folks like Lisa D. Cook (Biden, to 2028) and Michael S. Barr…
