BNB Chain, in collaboration with YZi Labs, has announced an ambitious city-to-city hackathon series, offering developers a unique opportunity to access their $1 billion Builder Fund. This initiative, titled the BNB Hack: Local Series, aims to transform innovative ideas into tangible Web3 projects by providing resources, mentorship, and a platform for global visibility, according to BNB Chain.

Your Gateway to the $1B Builder Fund

The hackathon series is designed to expedite the journey of builders from concept to execution. By partnering with YZi Labs, this initiative connects participants directly with funding, incubation, and long-term growth opportunities within the BNB Chain ecosystem. The series aims to empower local builders and potentially elevate them to global leadership positions.

Event Structure and Support

Each hackathon event is a comprehensive package offering mentorship from seasoned founders, access to the $1B Builder Fund, and incubation opportunities via the MVB Program within EASY Residency. Participating teams can expect visibility across BNB Chain’s global ecosystem and financial support of up to $50,000 in Kickstart ecosystem funding for top-performing teams.

Global Reach and Schedule

The series will commence in Buenos Aires this November, followed by events in Bangalore, Johor Bahru, Abu Dhabi, and Hong Kong, with plans to expand to more cities in 2026. Each city event will feature two days of live hacking sessions, technical workshops, product demonstrations, and networking opportunities with investors and ecosystem leaders.

Focus Areas for Innovation

Participants can choose from eight tracks to focus their projects, including Trading, RWA (Real World Assets), AI, DeSci (Decentralized Science), DeFi, Payments, Wallets, and Regional Impact. These categories are designed to push boundaries and reflect local trends, encouraging innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.

Prizes and Long-term Opportunities

The top teams from each city will receive cash prizes, mentorship, and fast-track interviews for the MVB program within EASY Residency. Additionally, they will gain potential investment access through the $1B Builder Fund. The hackathon also invites universities, incubators, and developer communities to join as regional partners, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation.

Participation Details

Registration for each hackathon opens two weeks prior to the event, allowing teams to begin building remotely. Projects must be deployed on or connected to BNB Smart Chain or opBNB. Submissions will be judged based on design, scalability, innovation, and integration. For those unable to attend in person, a global online hackathon, BNB Hack, is also available.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
