The accident resulted in the injuries of multiple passengers and the death of 19-year-old Mallory Beach. From there, the Murdaugh family’s fall from grace was littered with corruption, crime, tragedy and death, and ultimately culminated in the double homicide of Paul and the Murdaugh matriarch, Maggie. Mandy Matney is a South Carolina based journalist whose reporting broke story after story on the Murdaugh scandal.
