Litecoin’s position on CoinMarketCap is starting to feel more like nostalgia than progress. Once a leading force in crypto, Litecoin now sits around rank #21–25, held up mainly by name recognition rather than development. Its slowing growth and limited upgrades raise a pressing question: can reputation alone sustain its place in the market?

As projects like BlockDAG (BDAG) build real infrastructure and user adoption, Litecoin’s long-standing rank may soon be at risk. This article examines how active delivery and on-chain participation could help BlockDAG rise into the upper ranks of the global crypto charts.

Litecoin’s Rank Reflects Reputation, Not Momentum

Litecoin remains a familiar brand in crypto, but its influence has faded. Holding around rank #21–25 on CoinMarketCap, its valuation rests largely on historical relevance rather than modern functionality. The network continues to rely on the proof-of-work model with few meaningful updates. Despite decent speed and liquidity, developer activity, new features, and meaningful releases have stalled.

This steady but static approach leaves Litecoin open to competition from newer projects that launch with stronger purpose, faster frameworks, and active global communities. One such example is BlockDAG, which brings a fresh structure and measurable execution to the table.

BlockDAG’s Strength Lies in Speed, Structure, and Adoption

BlockDAG isn’t an upgrade to older systems, it’s a full redesign. Its hybrid model combines Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) structure with Proof-of-Work security, enabling simultaneous transaction processing and smart contract execution. This design removes legacy blockchain limitations and replaces the outdated UTXO structure with an efficient account-based system.

Unlike many new projects that promise but don’t deliver, BlockDAG’s network is already active. The Stratum Protocol improves miner synchronization, while EVM and WASM support bring multi-chain app compatibility. Its setup for EIP-4337 smart accounts gives it flexibility for modular wallet upgrades and account abstraction, which Litecoin lacks entirely.

The adoption figures tell an even stronger story. More than 3.5 million users are already mining BDAG on mobile daily, supported by 325,000 holders worldwide. Through referral programs and interactive tools like Buyer Battles, community activity is both measurable and sustainable.

Could BlockDAG Break Into the Top 50 Rankings?

Rank changes on CoinMarketCap depend on factors like market capitalization, liquidity, and active participation. With over $425 million raised, more than 27 billion coins sold, and testnet performance showing high transaction throughput, BlockDAG could realistically challenge projects currently sitting in the #40–#50 range, many of which lack genuine user bases.

If the trading demand during its presale translates into strong post-launch liquidity and exchange activity, BlockDAG could debut between ranks #35 and #45. That would put it just a few steps behind Litecoin by late 2026.

Litecoin’s stagnation leaves a clear opening. BlockDAG doesn’t need a $10 billion valuation to overtake it, only consistent network expansion, active miner engagement, and steady throughput post-launch.

Moreover, the presale is currently locked at $0.0015 for a limited time with code TGE, offering a rare low-cost entry.

With global visibility through its BWT Alpine Formula One® partnership, including live activations in Singapore and Austin, BlockDAG’s brand exposure adds another growth driver that most new crypto projects lack.

Is BlockDAG Ready for Top 50 Status?

All signs point to yes, and possibly beyond. BlockDAG has already proven functionality before its official launch. With a live mobile mining app, operational testnet, 3.5 million users, and audits from CertiK and Halborn, it offers more than promises. It delivers a complete working model.

Compared to Litecoin’s aging code and low engagement, BlockDAG’s readiness gives it a credible path toward the Top 50 crypto coins by early 2026. If current performance continues, it could even surpass Litecoin’s rank altogether.

As the market reorders itself after Bitcoin’s halving and ETF shifts, the projects that combine performance with participation will lead the next ranking wave. BlockDAG’s combination of utility, community, and transparency positions it well to make that leap.

What to Watch Next; Keep track of centralized exchange listings, final mainnet throughput numbers, and the rollout of smart accounts expected in Q1 2026. These milestones will determine whether BlockDAG stops in the Top 50, or pushes straight into the Top 25.

Courtesy of Patrick Brown/FX The following contains certain spoilers for Alien: Earth! When it came time to marry picture and music for FX’s Alien: Earth, series creator Noah Hawley did what he’s done for close to 20 years: call up Jeff Russo. “[He] said, ‘I’m adapting the Alien IP, for television. What do you think, musically?’” Russo recalls over Zoom. “We started talking and I began writing music for it. It seemed like…not a foregone conclusion, but a conversation that was being had.” A founder of Tonic and a previous member of Low Stars, the composer has scored all of Hawley’s film and television projects since The Unusuals (2009). “Everything I’ve learned about making music for storytelling, I learned by doing with him,” Russo adds. “He really knows what he wants. And when you have a confident filmmaker that is also open to artistic collaboration, it’s the best of all the worlds.” The first small screen translation of the nearly 50-year-old franchise known for straddling horror, sci-fi, and action genres, Alien: Earth takes place two years before the events of the 1979 original and nearly six decades before Aliens. “We talk a lot about trying to figure out what the underlying property is making our audience feel,” Russo explains. “Trying to create a unique narrative and way of telling the story, but at the same time, making the audience feel that same feeling. In this case, there’s that feeling of dread. There’s that tense, eerie feeling created with such a deft hand in Alien. And then [came Aliens, which was] such a great action piece. So how are we going to take those two ideas and sort of mix them together, have that be something unique and different, while eliciting the…
