PETALING JAYA: A Year 5 boy was injured after reportedly falling from the roof of the third floor of a school building in Kuala Nerang while trying to catch a pigeon yesterday afternoon.
Padang Terap police chief Anuar Junoh said police received a report on the incident from a teacher at about 4pm, Kosmo reported.
He said preliminary investigations found it was an accident and there were no elements of criminal wrongdoing.
“The victim is believed to have fallen while trying to catch a bird and suffered injuries to his left arm. He is currently receiving treatment at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar,” he was quoted as saying.
The incident reportedly occurred when the pupil was at the school in the afternoon to attend Quran and Fardu Ain (Kafa) classes.
He is believed to have climbed onto the roof of the third floor using a fire hydrant access point in an attempt to catch a pigeon.
