JOHOR BAHRU, July 3 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has unveiled its Johor election manifesto, ‘Johor Untuk Semua’, a strategic blueprint centred on modernising the state and securing its future.
The manifesto is anchored by five core pillars: sustainable employment, affordable housing, general prosperity, and a government defined by integrity.
Through these pillars, PH aims to revitalise Johor by introducing a suite of programmes, incentives, and aid designed to attract and retain top talent within the state.
Alongside these pillars, the coalition has outlined ten key pledges for the people of Johor.
Speaking at the launch at the New York Hotel on Jalan Datuk Abdullah Tahir, PKR vice-president Maszlee Malik described the manifesto as a pragmatic implementation plan rather than a just political promise.
“The manifesto is not an election document, rather it is a roadmap to make Johor successful,” Maszlee said.
“It also encompasses the hopes of all Johoreans, irrespective of background and age.”
The event was officiated by PH Johor state election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who was joined by coalition leaders Aminolhuda Hassan, Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Teo Nie Ching.
The main points of the PH manifesto include targeting 250,000 high-wage workers, a Johor health scheme covering up to RM100,000 per year, an offer of RM8,000 for first-time home ownership, assistance for Johor children benefiting 50,000 young families, RM1 billion in funds for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), an allocation of RM500 million for the Johor Youth Fund and driving high-value industries.
Earlier in his speech, Amirudin said the PH manifesto offer was to elevate and empower Johor as a perfect and complete state.
He said PH wants Johor to become an economic powerhouse in its own right instead of remaining a “feeder” to neighbouring Singapore.
Amirudin, who is PKR vice-president, said major initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and the revitalisation of Forest City had laid a strong foundation for the state’s growth.
He said that these initiatives were made possible with the backing of the Federal Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“However, Johor also needs its own long-term development strategy to complement federal initiatives.
“A Pakatan state government will formulate a comprehensive development blueprint covering all parts of Johor to ensure economic growth is shared more evenly across the state,” he said.
The Selangor menteri besar said the new development philosophy under Pakatan Harapan Johor is that Johor is fair to all in terms of economic development in every locality and district.
“We need three to six months to prepare a development plan that provides equality to all the people of Johor, to be presented by the menteri besar.
“The success of PH leadership will be expanded in Johor, covering more sustainable development, with a focus on ensuring that the entire area is planned with development that benefits the people,” he said.
The Johor state election will see 172 candidates vie for 56 state seats, with July 11 set as polling day, while early voting is on July 7.
PH is fielding candidates in all 56 state seats.
