Citigroup Launches SDX Blockchain Tokenization Platform

Citigroup acts as custodian and tokenization agent for the regulated digital securities system. It issues authorised tokenised depositary receipts held through a regulated institutions system. The platform runs on R3 Corda through SDX digital central securities depository system layer. It uses permissioned distributed ledger infrastructure inside the SIX Group system layer. Access starts with foreign investors, while U.S. access comes later, with the global rollout. Regulators will determine the timing for expansion into U.S. markets and global rollout.

Distribution uses Sygnum Bank and SBI Digital Markets in Switzerland and Singapore’s digital systems.
