MANILA, Philippines – There’s a move in the Senate to allow senators to participate in sessions online under “justifiable reasons” amid the looming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Critics said the proposed rule change is meant to benefit Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who has been evading a possible arrest tied to the International Criminal Court’s investigation into former president Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war.
But it appears not only Dela Rosa stands to benefit from the proposal, as several senators face legal issues that could lead to arrests.
