This summer, one day before America’s birthday, Madonna will release her upcoming album, Confessions II. The project, which can also be called Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part Two, as it has been marketed as a sequel to her Grammy-winning full-length, is one of the most highly anticipated of the year. Madonna’s forthcoming fifteenth full-length will mark her first in six years, and fans have already gotten a taste of the full-length via lead single “I Feel So Free.”
As that song launches on several charts in the United Kingdom, Madonna’s The Confessions Tour: Live from London, a Record Store Day exclusive release, earns the superstar a new top 10 on a pair of rankings across the Atlantic, only months before she may score a new No. 1.
The Confessions Tour: Live from London Debuts
The Confessions Tour appears on four lists in the U.K., launching on two and finding its way back to another pair. Madonna’s live set, which was recorded at her show in August 2006 at Wembley Arena, opens at No. 8 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart and one space lower at No. 9 on the Official Albums Sales tally.
The Confessions Tour Adds to Madonna’s Top 10s
The pop superstar earns her sixth top 10 on the Official Albums Sales chart, the U.K.’s ranking of the bestselling titles of any style and via any format. It’s been less than half a year since she earned another new placement inside that tier.
Back in December, Bedtime Stories kicked off its time at No. 9 – the same spot where The Confessions Tour opens this time around. During the same week, Bedtime Stories – The Untold Chapter EP missed out on entering the top 10 by just two spaces, as it debuted at No. 12.

Madonna has proved far more successful on the Official Vinyl Albums chart. That list operates in essentially the same manner as the Official Albums Sales tally, though only wax records are considered, while on the more comprehensive ranking, CDs, cassettes, and digital downloads also play a role in where a title settles.
The Confessions Tour marks the Grammy winner’s eighteenth top 10. She’s sent 22 projects to the rundown, and only a handful have missed out on the highest tier. That’s a greater track record than on the Official Albums Sales chart, where 21 releases have become bestsellers, but only a fraction have broken into the uppermost region.
Confessions on a Dance Floor Debuted Recently
Almost unbelievably, Madonna has scored two debuts on the Official Vinyl Albums chart this month alone. The original Confessions on a Dance Floor finally became a bestseller on wax in the U.K. on the ranking dated April 9. The beloved set spent just two frames on the list and peaked at No. 12. Last year, both Veronica Electronica and Bedtime Stories – The Untold Chapter peaked inside the top 10, dancing their way to Nos. 3 and 9, respectively.
The Confessions Tour Returns to Several Rankings
The Confessions Tour may be new to several U.K. rosters, but the album itself is far from new. Madonna released the live project nearly 20 years ago, when she was traveling the world promoting Confessions on a Dance Floor.
The Confessions Tour debuted on both the Official Albums and Official Physical Albums charts that year, peaking at No. 7. As it launches on multiple rosters, The Confessions Tour finds its way back to the Official Physical Albums ranking at No. 9, while simultaneously reentering the main list of the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs at No. 78. Throughout its years of availability, the title has only spent half a dozen frames on either of the tallies where it reappears, and it hasn’t been seen on them since the spring of 2007.
