This new music Friday belongs to Jason Aldean, who scores not one, not two, but three of the bestselling just-shared songs at the outset of this tracking period. Every Friday, the music industry’s data tracking refreshes again, and it’s during the last day of the work week that most musicians release songs and albums. That way, their latest compositions will have a full seven days in which to sell and stream as well as possible and hopefully reach the Billboard charts.
The iTunes charts in major nations are often flooded with exciting new drops from superstars and indie favorites each Friday. This time around, Aldean leads the charge with multiple brand new cuts.
Jason Aldean’s “Don’t Tell Me” Launches at No. 1
Aldean fills the highest three spaces on the iTunes Top Songs chart, which ranks the bestselling cuts on that one platform, which is known as perhaps the most important when it comes to online sales of albums and singles.
“Don’t Tell Me” launches at No. 1. The tune is set to be pushed as the second official single from the country star’s upcoming full-length Songs About Us. The project, his twelfth studio album, is slated to be released on April 24, and thus far, he’s only shared one official single, “How Far Does the Goodbye Go.” Multiple other tunes from Songs About Us have been offered, and several became bestsellers on iTunes. Soon, “Don’t Tell Me” will be serviced to radio, and it might become another huge win on the country rosters in America for the singer-songwriter.
“Dust on the Bottle” and “Drinking About You” Also Debut
Aldean also lands at Nos. 2 and 3 with “Dust on the Bottle” and “Drinking About You,” respectively. The first of those two is a collaboration with David Lee Murphy, who made the song of the same name famous in mid-1995 when he released it on his own. “Drinking About You,” another promotional cut shared from Songs About Us, launches at No. 3 on the iTunes Top Songs ranking.
“How Far Does the Goodbye Go” Falls
As three tracks taken from Aldean’s upcoming full-length debut in the loftiest spaces on the iTunes Top Songs chart, “How Far Does the Goodbye Go” drops. Aldean released that single back in September, and the fact that it appears as a bestseller in America at all speaks to the cut’s popularity. As of the time of writing, “How Far Does the Goodbye Go” descends to No. 134.

Half a dozen tracks immediately shoot into the top 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, and three come from Aldean. Alex Warren’s new single “Fever Dream” begins at No. 4, while Lamb of God debuts “Blunt Force Blues” at No. 5. “Highlands,” the latest single from Needtobreathe, enters the highest tier on the iTunes Top Songs tally at No. 8.
“How Far Does the Goodbye Go” Ruled Radio Last Week
Now seems like the perfect time for Aldean to deliver a new single from his upcoming album. “How Far Does the Goodbye Go” led the Country Airplay chart last week, but it is no longer in charge of one of Billboard’s most competitive radio rankings. As Morgan Wallen scores his milestone twentieth leader with “20 Cigarettes,” “How Far Does the Goodbye Go” slips to No. 4.
The same tune dips one rung to No. 13 on the Hot Country Songs chart. That list is built with sales, streaming, and radio airplay data, and it details the most consumed country cuts in the nation. While “How Far Does the Goodbye Go” added to Aldean’s list of champions on the Country Airplay tally, it has yet to break into the top 10 on the main country roster. 23 weeks into its time on the Hot Country Songs roster. “How Far Does the Goodbye Go” backtracks one spot from No. 12, its all-time high, to No. 13.
