Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) appeared to lose her defiant tone about sharing photos from inside a closed-door deposition with a MAGA influencer on Thursday.
Reporters caught up with Boebert near the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in New York, where former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared for a closed-door deposition related to her husband's contacts with the disgraced financier and convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein. Earlier in the day, Boebert shared images from inside the deposition with MAGA influencer Benny Johnson, which caused the hearing to be temporarily paused.
Boebert was defiant when asked by CNN's MJ Lee why she took the photos.
"Why not? I haven't been reprimanded." Boebert told Lee.
The Colorado lawmaker appeared to walk back that claim when reporters asked her again why she shared the photos.
"I just returned to my hotel room and installed the BleachBit software on my cameras and iPad, so I guess in regard to the photos, I don't recall," Boebert said as she pushed a young child on a bicycle into the center.
