On the same day as the show’s premiere, Sunday, Oct. 26, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Episode 2 of IT: Welcome to Derry, titled “The Thing in the Dark,” will be released three days ahead of its scheduled debut, dropping just in time for Halloween.
Set in the fictional town of Derry, Maine, during 1962, IT: Welcome to Derry is based on Stephen King’s horror novel It and serves as a prequel to the blockbuster 2017 and 2019 films. The series, developed by Andy and Barbara Muschietti alongside Jason Fuchs, explores the origin story of Pennywise, the shape-shifting cosmic entity that preys on the children of Derry.
The chilling new series stars Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Blake Cameron James, Arian S. Cartaya, Amanda Christine, Matilda Lawler, Clara Stack, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso. Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgård reprises his horrifying role as Pennywise from the films.
